Sorry, but I laughed my ass off when you brought Negan into it for literally no reason other than to have him kill a main character haha
I kind of agree with your ideas, but where the hell did Negan come from? And besides, Negan (wherever he teleported from) wouldn't kill a boy as he doesn't harm kids.
Yeah, your idea is a great compromise for all of us.
It's a smart comment.
Two different characters in one Season with two interwoven stor… moreies:
-Episode One: Christa
-Episode Two: Clementine
-Episode Three: Christa
-Episode Four: Clementine
-Episode Five: Clementine or Christa (depend of a previous decision) and the other character in this episode cover the role of deuteragonist.
I had thought the same thing but with a different situation:
Maybe after Season 3, Telltale could make another spin off like Michonne miniserie but with a boy ( called... Jeff? Or Matthew? Ok, I call him Matthew for now) in quality of protagonist.
In Season 4 we can import the save data from The Walking Dead Season 3 and the new spin off with Matthew.
So we can use Clem (now she is a teenager in this Season) and Matthew.
In this story they will have a meeting and they will start a relationship together (the first romance of Clementine).
So… [view original content]
I think wanting Clem to be a badass is missing the point of her character. In Season 1, she was vulnerable and inquisitive. I mean, she was … moregoing to be hardened by the Apocalypse eventually, but I think Season 2 pushed it too early/suddenly and tried to overcompensate for having her be the playable character.
Ahahah
Well I'm talking about a 17-18 years old boy!
In the first season of the game we have Glenn and Hershel so, now I want a villain.
Sorry but I follow only the TV Serie of The Walking Dead so, I'm a bit ignorant about the original story! XD
For know what happen, I find the things in Internet (and a difference of others, I have the courage to admit this shame) so, thanks for your post and feel free to correct me!
For all I know, Negan is considered the greatest villain in The Walking Dead universe. In front of him, The Governor is just a little kid and, well, The Governor is responsible for the death of Lory and the little Judit in the Comic, no?
So Negan must be a very bad guy.
In addition of this, Rick meets first The Governor, and later Negan.
We don't know the situation of Rick in the Second Season of the game, maybe he already meets The Governor, or maybe he is still in a coma.

He is a great villain, and TV show only people will be shitting their pants real soon, but it still doesn't make sense for him to appear in the game. While they do take place in the same universe, they should just stick to their own stories and not cross over (and Negan appearing would mean that they have to cross over)

Then why not have a timeskip to have a older Clementine as the lead? A few years would make her a teenager, a decade would put her in her twenties and would make AJ around ten (the same age she was in the first season). Also, Wellington provides ample storytelling opportunities - I've been liking Alexandria on the TV show (and comics) and a suitable time skip can easily explain why she's there even if she didn't pick Kenny in the end.
I have officially taken Season 3 off of my "looking forward to" list.
The "new beginning" stuff and "That doesn't mean that any specific … morecharacters are confirmed, even seemingly obvious ones" doesn't sound too promising. It sounds like they are pushing a new main character that will see just some kind of aftermath from your choices in S1+2. The only obvious character is Clementine, all other characters are either dead, have an unknown fate or determinant.
The biggest thing I'm taking away from all this is they have been reading the forums here and see the divide fans have and are trying to make something that pleases everyone, but in the process will most likely make something that pleases no one.
I highly doubt Rick will even be alive 100 issues from now
Well, a normal serie ends after 10 years..
You could make the argument that Carl will take over from then on, but even then that's just an assumption.
Nah, the protagonist is Rick.
How about Carl? His son? Well, this reminds me the story of Dragon Ball Z.
You know Dragon Ball?
The intention of Toriyama was to replace Goku, and put Gohan in quality of protagonist of Dragon Ball Z.
The thing didn't work, the fans are involved with Goku.
Same thing here, no?
Since when was Clementine charismatic?
Well, she has a LOT of fans...
Michonne's past is hardly mysterious, you find most of it out in the first couple of issues she's in.
Directly from the beginning? Ok, I want to see.
Could I have the numeration of these issues, please?
I want an adult as the lead character because playing as a child limits the player too much in terms of gameplay and narrative.
It is not true.
A child in quality of protagonist is an innovation in a mature story like The Walking Dead.
Put an adult or the usual badass of the situation it's boring.
Don't you think?
Why it is a limit in terms of gameplay?(you have only to push a button for play this game)
Or narrative? The story of an orphan girl who have to grow up and become an adult in a sick world of death, and she is completely alone. It is limitating?
I think it's the opposite thing. With her we have a blank page to write because she is a child who needs to create her personality.
And yes, at the end she will become an adult.
She doesn't strike ME as the leader type.
This is only your consideration, I think the opposite thing for example.
For "Leader" I mean a reference for the group, just like Lee.
That's just one of the many things that she's limited in, I can go on for days about it if I wanted to, which I don't.
No, no, go ahead and tell me why!
You speak as if Clementine was the only one who made difficult choices in the past, which is complete nonsense.
Of course she isn't the only one in the world, but she is one of them and she is already the protagonist of this story.
Your affirmation it's a nosense because it's applicable in every character. I mean, you want a guy without a clear past because he can make hard choises? Well, he is not the only who can make something like that!
I can hardly think of any choices that make her look like a monster that makes her need to redeem herself
Not for now, but in the future?
(Shoot Kenny it's not an hard decision?)
And in this point you said two contrasting things.
Here's your previous post:
they can see helping people like Clementine as that possibility for redemption
.
I like the idea, but I would much prefer playing as Chirsta for Season Three.
Yeah, you have a point here.
After all, Clementine is trying to find Christa.
An innovation is to use two characters in a single Season: Clementine and Christa.
But, Telltale wants our Seson One save data so, maybe Molly it's the candidate for this.
How in the world does leaving a dog to a painful death or watching a guy get beaten to a bloody pulp come off in any way as "badass"? That makes her look more like a sadist than anything.
Well, to be honest, the entire universe of The Walking Dead is sadic..
Kirkman is sadic, We are sadics!
Anyway, Clementine is a badass because she has the courage to do these things, even though she is only a child.
The dog is suffering so, Clem can't leave it in this state, it's a painful death.
You have to kill him, it is a gesture of compassion. (but of course this is our decision)
Do you think it's easy do something like that? Especially for a little girl?
Of course she has to be a badass for do that!
It's much easy be coward and leave the dog in this state.
Yeah, Stay and see Carver's death maybe is a little sadic but
considering he is the antagonist and the villain of the story, why she can't enjoy this death? Now they are free from a monster. (And anyway as ever this is only one of the choices)
A badass can't be a little sadic?
Why? How about Michonne?

I think it makes it all the more interesting if we don't know the S3 protagonists past, as it leaves a lot of great potential as to what s/h… moree did to get to where s/he is now.
Uh, a character with a mysterious past...
Maybe an adult, right? You guys want an adult.. Wait, it's not her?
They could have been a complete monster in the past that is trying to redeem themselves, and they can see helping people like Clementine as that possibility for redemption.
Yeah, for help someone in a redemption you need a character who have done difficult choises in her/his past.

To me, Clementine's story is over. There's a lot of closure no matter what ending you picked. Plus it'll be hard to converge the stories in a satisfactory and "realistic" way since all the endings were so different. I hope to see a new protagonist that finds a group that has past supporting characters. Eg Lilly, Mike etc or a prequel story so we can see those beloved dead characters just one more time.
Well, for me, the thing about Rick and Lee is that they're adults and people trust them more to take the role of a leader more than they would a kid. I'm not saying I'm against playing Clementine again, but I miss the feeling I got when I played Lee where I kept trying to force myself in the role of the group leader.
Neither do I. Clementine is the main character in the game like it or not. I don't see anyone complaining about Rick being the main character in the show and saying he should be either written out or pushed to the side.

I agree that the time skips were a bit much and they should have shown at least a little bit of what happened. That would have made S2 longer as well and fixed 2 problems. But since they did have a timeskip it would have made less sense for it to be 21 months later and have Clementine be exactly the same.
Out of everyone, Clementine—along with Bonnie—is probably the one with least reason to stay and watch Kenny kill Carver. The cabin group was chased down by him for weeks, and they had history with him; Sarita was in the same group as Walter, who was killed by Carver; Mike and Jane were kept as prisoners in his community, and forced to work; Clementine had two ten-minute talks with him.
How was Clementine the main character in Season 1 when Lee had way more screen time than she did? Season 1 was just as much about Clem as it… more was about Kenny and Ben with Lee being the character there for the development of all three characters and any side characters such as Duck.
Sounds more like the interviewer in that link before was trying to sound dramatic. You know, like how you get those film ads on TV with the reviews that quickly pop up and they say things like:
"Captivating! The most stunning film about paint drying I've seen in a decade!" - The Daily Gloom
What exactly did we get closure on anyway? Somebody please tell me, I got nothing over here! T_T

Oh please bring Clementine back. I really cant imagine TWD game without her, especially because things ended on such a cliffhanger after Season 2 and it would be just cruel to not bring her back.
That said, what does "more in July" mean? If 2016 is going to be their biggest year for TWD Game, then giving us some info on it in July, isnt that a bit late? Say the first episode is released in September, then that would hardly make 2016 the biggest year ever as not all episodes for the season would be released in those 3 months. Anyone know something else//more/different?
I know!! It ended o such a cliffhanger. It would be really shitty to not pick up where Season 2 left off - though I am still not sure how they would reconcile all these mutually exclusive endings.
There was zero closure. We know nothing about Wellington and what dark secrets it may have and going with Jane they hint the family is going to cause trouble.
"WHO WILL YOU BECOME?"
Yeah, that's the POINT.
A protagonist without a past is nothing.
The past have an important role in The Walking … moreDead because it's thanks of him if a character grow up.
Look the characters in the Comic, look Rick, he is changed a lot and, he is the protagonist of the comic since 2003!!
So, why we have to change a charismatic character like Clem?
She is the protagonist of the videogame and she grow up Season by Season with our decisions.
I repeat: Who will you become? A sweet girl or a badass? With Clem your can do whatever you want.
She drags a heavy past on her shoulders, and she can be a great woman.
Here an adult version of Clementine:
We can see her sad past in her eyes, she has experience, she can be a leader...
(Oh! And she looks badass at the same way of Daryl Dixon!)
Telltale is moving back to monthly releases for episodes. With the three episodes of Michonne, we could also get at least three episodes of Season 3 and still have this be the biggest year as 2016 would be the year with most Walking Dead episodes released.

That has nothing to do with mini series; that's a trend that Telltale have said multiple times they are moving towards for future releases. It was also the case with the first four episodes of Minecraft, although since they never gave hard dates for Minecraft, I'm guessing they delayed Episode 5 of Minecraft so they could have the story lead into the DLC episodes of Minecraft.
Telltale have not outright confirmed particular details for any specific games, but basically, expect monthly releases for Season 3 and Batman as well.
Sorry for off topic post but is there any katy perry fan here? i love katy perry's voice and want that she will do the voice of clem when clem will be something like 25 lol just kidding
I think it's quite easy for them to bring all the endings together. It's not ideal but they would need just Clem and the baby killing either Kenny or Jane off. With Jane's story if you don't let the group in they kill Jane and Clem escapes with the baby. If you let them in they steal the supplies and Jane dies either way. If you went to Wellington there can be something that drives Clem off this place. If you go with Kenny he could die or they get separated.
I think I recall Kirkman saying that Rick would likely not survive the entire comic series, so that maybe true. I doubt it'd be Carl as the new protag as well if that day comes. Anyway, done with off-topicness
Like you said there are easy options for them but what if they decided to try and figure it all out the hard way? It'd be cool of course but we shall see.

The game is bound to the comic's canon and can't overtake them timewise. The comics are only 4-5 years into the apocalypse, so Clem could be 12-13 max
I don't think walking into a herd really counts as 'a lot of closure'.
