    Endgame spoiler

What reeealllly annoys me is when people say Hulk doesn’t take part in the final battle...he does, you can blatantly see ant man carrying him and placing him down just before the “avengers assemble” scene, on top of the fact that you see him sprinting towards Thanos’s army and throwing a few punches in. Just because you don’t see him much during that particular scene doesn’t mean he wasn’t there ?

  • I'm back. I saw the Endgame.

10 out of 10 movie. Best Marvel Movie Ever. Thank you Russos.

Ive got thoughts on all the spoilers, but I'll write those in later. I need to decompress and think.

  • Seeing Endgame in theaters might just be the best movie going experience of my life, and I’ve seen midnight screenings of The Room (which, if you have not, I would totally recommend doing, it’s very fun). Seeing the culmination of 11 years and 20+ movies on screen was more than satisfying, it was fulfilling.

  • I just came back from the theaters, watching Endgame. It's first Marvel movie that I've seen in cinema and I had a HUGE blast. I had no regrets and it's probably the best movie experience I've ever had. My parents always had me go with them and watch terrible movies with Dwayne Johnson like Skyscraper and San Andreas (Though it was an enjoyable experience). I fucking hated that shit.

I have a feeling that this movie is going to be a little bit divisive because there are some moments that felt a little bit anticlamatic but it's definitely not in the same way as The Last Jedi.

  • The only thing that I hated about this movie is the fact that

They just happened to give Fortnite a cameo in Thor's fucking boat house. It was one of, if not the most missed opportunity in movie history. I've never facepalmed so hard in my life. The best game option they could have picked is God of War because that's where fucking Thor is coming from, the Norse Mythology. Whoever made this decision deserves to be fired, jk.

    I have a feeling that

That was a part of the Epic Games x Marvel Studios deal where they managed to get Avengers: IW and EG content to use for a special event. Though that doesn't make too much sense as it would really only benefit Epic more in the long run. :/
But dmn now I want to see Thor playing some God of War lol.

  • I dont think it was that bad, I just kinda wish they didnt show what game they were playing because it will one day make the movie feel dated. Overall I think it works better that they are playing some kind of online game because it helps show that Thor is not what he used to be and is now just depressed and is yucking it up by just getting drunk and playing video games and yelling at kids online.

  • I like how he acts like a dad to Korg in that scene. I thought it was hilarious. But yeah it would have been better to not have shown the game, unless of course Fortnite is still relevant 10 years down the line.

  • I'm really excited for whenever they decide to put Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel into the MCU. Not just because I actually really like the character and her comics, but also because I want to see the fucking blowout it will almost certainly cause among the crazy people.

  • Tfw raccoons have a 3 year lifespan, and rocket confirms that despite his genetics he does not have that long of a lifespan, but in endgame there’s a 5 year timeskip and he’s still kicking like he has his whole life ahead of him.

    Amirite, fellas? ?

    Well this was unexpected.

EDIT: So it seems this does deal with a lot of ramifications of Endgame.
And I love their use of the original theme. Glad they got the rights to that for this movie. Sounds awesome every time I hear it.

    endgame spoilers

Judging from the Far From Home trailer, I think it's pretty lucky that most of Peter's friends got snapped (they look the same as ever, right?). Think about it: The snap happened, society kinda collapsed, 5 years passed, then everyone who disappeared came back as if it was just a minute or two. Everyone who didn't disappear is now 5 years older, and... what? Society is gonna pick up right where it left off? Mostly? Schools are going to be pretty weird by having a lot of 21-year old 10th graders.
    This time-mumbo-jumbo is crazy.

  • you're not meant to take that snap stuff seriously I think. Because with half of the universe gone, society would collapse. Things just wouldn't work, long story short.

  • So I was finally able to make the trip to see Avengers Endgame the same day we thought the community was conclude.
It was a good movie, but it is very much the finale of a long series. Fanservice and continuity porn are very much the name of the game, so it most certainly is not newcomer friendly even compared to Infinity War.
The only MCU movie I didn't watch is Captain Marvel and I've confirmed that that is very much unnecessary.

  • Well...it won’t be newcomer friendly cos it’s the last movie of the series. You don’t start at the end, you start at the beginning, maybe half way through depending on where the narrative is going. Avengers 1 is one of the more suitable starting points. Fan service is a good thing, idk why people speak of it like it’s a drawback (not saying that you are btw) but fan service is probably the greatest gift we can get in a movie, video game or tv show. That and nostalgia.

  • Just got back from watching Far From Home, and oh my goooooosh it was an excellent movie. Really one of my favourite Spider-Man films now, probably in top 3 somewhere.

First of all, the whole movie was joyful and sad and shocking and amazing, I left the theatre with a huge grin on my face.
Seeing Spider-Man in a whole new locale was really fun, and I liked how they incorporated the new SHIELD suit.
The silly high-school humour and drama was a fun element to the film, as these MCU Spidey movies are. The inclusion of a few more moments giving insight into the Snap was fun, and seeing how the world is dealing with the aftermath of Endgame regarding the Avengers and Tony Stark was interesting, too. I'd really love to see how the world learns of big secluded/off-world events like Tony's sacrifice or Cap's death. (so, it's official now? Cap is now dead of old age?)

Secondly, Mysterio. Wow they did such a great job with his character (and team), motivations, origins, and impact on not only the film but the Marvel series as a whole.
We all knew that Mysterio was going to be the bad guy in the end, since that's just who he is. There was a high likelihood that the Elementals were just smoke and mirrors, only made to make him look better. All that was a given from the start, to me.
However, they went above and beyond with the twists involving his character, the use of his "powers", and built him up to be a great threatning villain. I did not have expect that he'd have a whole team with him, that everything was fake and projected, and they had their own "Anti-Tony Stark club" formed of members that actually link back to previous films in the series... I did not expect that the Multiverse was just a sham and he made it all up. I did not expect to have a guy with a huge drone army using the tech he made for Stark that Stark essentially kept locked up for himself. I did not expect that we'd have a fantastic lengthy CG sequence in which Spidey gets duped by Mysterio, which *then leads you to question what is real and what is not throughout the rest of the film, kinda.

And that ending?! Whoa. You think the movie ends on a great note (and with a great final sequence of Spider-Man swinging through the skyscraper section of New York which was fantastic to see him do again), it has a nice happy ending. Then, comes the tease of the future of the MCU/Spidey. Bombshell drop courtesy of Mysterio, he frames Spider-Man for his murder and makes him out to be the hero trying to stop him... I read in pre-release articles that 'Spider-Man is put in a unique spot at the end we've never seen an incarnation do before', and it's shocking and unique in all the right ways. (oh hey, Mysterio stole the 'Even Dead I'm The Hero' thing!)
2021 is going to be a long time to wait.

Also J.K. SIMMONS!! YES! JJJ is kinda back?? At least as a small cameo now! (Even using Jonah as a kind of Alex Jones conspiracy-theorist type like the PS4 game, though their mannerisms do kind of line up so it makes sense).

  • so, it's official now? Cap is now dead of old age?

I don't think he's actually dead, but since he's just old now the remaining Avengers probably put out a press release or something saying he was one of the casualties at the attack on the Avengers base.

Marvel Studios is having their SDCC panel right now. Here's what they've announced so far!

    Movies:
    Eternals - November 6 2020
Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - February 12 2021
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - May 7 2021
Thor: Love and Thunder - November 5 2021

    WandaVision - Spring 2021
    Loki - Spring 2021
    What If? - Summer 2021
    Hawkeye - Fall 2021

    Notes:
Looks like the villain of Shang Chi will be the Mandarin! The real one, as teased by the All Hail The King short that was released after Iron Man 3!
Doctor Strange 2 will also have Elizabeth Olsen starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch! Probably a master and apprentice type of thing. It will also take place several years after Endgame and Far From Home.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will have Daniel Bruhl returning as Baron Zemo.
WandaVision will take place after Endgame and tie into Doctor Strange 2. The series will also include Monica Rambeau (the little girl) from Captain Marvel as an adult.
Loki will take place immediately after his appearance in Endgame.
What If? is an animated series set in the MCU and will feature the voices of the actors from the movies.
Hawkeye will introduce Kate Bishop into the MCU!
Thor 4 will have Natalie Portman re-introducing Jane Foster as Lady Thor!
Black Widow will be set after Civil War.
Blade will have Mahershala Ali (Cottonmouth in Luke Cage) as the titular character!

  • Some of that stuff sounds awesome.

    Source?

Speaking of... Whatever happened to that 'New Mutants' X-Men horror/thriller? We got a trailer 2 years ago, then they had to do a bunch of reshoots before launch which delayed the film, then Disney bought Fox... Now what? I don't think Kevin Feige mentioned any of that at ComicCon

EDIT: Ah, never mind. It should come out next year.

Disney released a slate of planned movies a few months ago. New Mutants is planned for April 2020.
