Admittedly, when I wrote that, I was mostly thinking of how bratty and 'ungrateful" she can determinately be about it. Still, I think it was ultimately for better, as it spared her the trouble of having to take care of AJ when he could've died and/or gotten them both killed out in the wild and I kinda get the feeling his getting better under Dr. Lingard's jurisdiction is no coincidence.

Yeah, I definitely noticed the difference. My guess is that David either made him break the happen after that incident, Joan returning encouraged him to sober up for the community's sake, or he's simply got to busy helping others to even think about getting high again and went clean as a result.
We, unfortunately, don’t know everything that happened. But considering that your description is what seems to be the case, my answer would be… probably yes.
It is a complicated situation, but what she did, even if comprehensible, cannot be tolerated under these circumstances. As David said (if I remember it well), she basically killed someone down the line. She acted against the group for her own reasons and didn’t consider the repercussions.
But, on the other hand, I think that an alternative to the “exile” would be a better option. Maybe she could be sent away to find a replacement for that medicine and she wouldn’t be accepted back without it. That’s something they could have done even before she got to the situation where she would have to steal it.

You know what, that probably would've been a more pragmatic punishment: either get more medicine to earn her place back into the group or never return and have AJ ever again.

His being a father should understand that Clem is a child who loves and is trying her best to take care of a child in a world that has gone to shit. Would you expect her to act any other way than with desperation and impulsive decisions? If my 12 year old were thrust into the same situation like Clem was AJ would be doomed from the giddy up, for sure. From the very beginning Clem has been expected to make very adult decisions when she's just a kid ( important for gameplay I understand ) but a father with children the same age should not only understand why she makes the decisions she does but also guide and help her. You can't tell me no one gives a shit about a little girl caring for a baby and that there wouldn't be anyone that wouldn't want to cut the kid a break.
Because he has a temper problem: people sometimes say hurtful things they don't actually mean when they're really upset about something. And the reasoning behind what he said was that AJ was very sick with no hope of recovering despite their efforts and that caused Clementine to steal/waste the medicine; ergo, if he simply left AJ to his fate, there would be little chance of Clementine doing what she did because they likely wouldn't have even accepted her presence.
You can't tell me no one gives a shit about a little girl caring for a baby and that there wouldn't be anyone that wouldn't want to cut the kid a break.

You guys do realize, I hope, that David's decision to keep AJ saved the kid's life. Like, there is no chance that he would have survived with Clem out in the woods again when already sick, sleeping in some cold and damp cave and constantly threatened by walkers and other people. The reason AJ got sick in the first place was that he was exposed to wind and weather constantly since the day he was born. I'm surprised he even lived this long.
The New Frontier definitely made the right decision to kick out Clem if she used the medicine she had been explicitly told would not save the child, otherwise it's a harsh punishment, but still somewhat understandable. People need to realize that the New Frontier does not have an emotional connection to Clementine, like players of the game do. To them, she was just a bratty teenage thief with a child she could clearly not take care of anymore. Keeping AJ was the right call, even if it seems harsh. It's the reason AJ survived.
Vancomycin is also a last resort antibiotic that should only be issued in the doses a doctor prescribes. Using an entire vial of that medicine on someone AJ's weight should've honestly qualified for permanent damage. " Taking more of this medicine will not make it more effective, and may cause serious or life-threatening side effects."
For two seasons, we were programmed to protect and defend Clem. I think that's so hard coded that it's blinding other perspectives. From Clem's point of view, ANF are all monsters. From ANF's point of view - they took in people more than once that betrayed their trust. It's cost them loved ones. Their humanity, their sympathy for others, had a death toll. That's the harsh demeanor that can be seen in them. The loss of that medicine likely means digging another grave. How many graves do you dig before you exile someone?
Keeping AJ would save his life. The wilderness is absolutely unforgiving, and the younger you are - the crueler it is because your body hasn't earned it's merit badges yet.
Both sides of the line can be sympathised with depending on who's view you take. ( Discounting those that raided communities in the sub-plot ). For those defending Clem on the basis of her being just a kid - David was a man that had lost everyone, and everything. ( At that point in time. ) He was there when his father died. He was likely with his mother when she died. As the city fell into chaos, and mass evacuations occurred, he believed his wife, children, and brother dead. His baby girl will forever be six years old in his mind because he never saw her again after the four years they spent apart.

Well playing the devils advocate....Lingard does have a set of skills that are hard to do without. Clem may be a great scavenger...but they have many of them....but I still think David was too aggressive in his punishment.
Well, I believe that she did the right thing. Let me explain myself:
It was mentioned that the medicine would just bring AJ a relief from the pain of his illness. In addition to this, a baby is more vulnerable to any kind of pain than a man or woman. What is more, if the medicine was just a painkiller, then why everyone reacted as if it was antibiotics or something more important than just a painkiller? A painkiller wouldn't save a man's life, too. Thus, I believe that Clementine did the right thing.
Yeah, I can also say that it is better that David kept AJ because it would be difficult, even impossible, to survive from his illness out in the woods without food or medicine.
So, yeah, it may was harsh to take AJ away from Clementine in that way, but I (unfortunately) think it was the right thing to do.

Hell, if I had a 2 year old child I'd inject him or her too.
At least if and when they passed away I'd someday be able to sleep again at night knowing I did everything humanly possibly to save them...even if the odds were basically slim to none.
I can believe kicking her out, it's a "your house your rules" type of thing. Clementine willingly broke the rules set forth, getting kicked out is appropriate.
Taking AJ on the other hand makes no sense.
"Your baby is a lost cause, how dare you try to save him. Now leave and we'll keep him here and let him be a drain on our resources."
There was no reason for it, and David did it just out of spite.
I don't think she deserved to be kicked out. They were low on meds cuz their doctor was using to good stuff to get high. They kicked clem out of the group for using the last of it to help Aj, but not one of them said a damn word about the Doc wasting medication for his daily fix other than something like, "not again". I understand that he's a doctor, but he's the reason they didn't have enough meds. He should've been given the boot.
He wasn't getting high off of antibiotics. The sorts of drugs he would be abusing would be more along the lines of :: Oxycontin, Xanax, Adderall , Ritalin, Vicodin, Percocet , Valium, Ambien, Codeine, and Phenobarbital. ( Please do not take any of these drugs without consulting a doctor, and only as prescribed. Prescription drug abuse can lead to long term side effects, destroy your life, and kills people on a regular basis. No amount of curiosity, or thrill seeking is worth anything these can do to you or your family. )
This doesn't excuse his behavior, but it doesn't relate to the lack of the particular medications involved in this situation which would be in low supply at this stage of the outbreak. They would also be incredibly difficult to find, as most people who would be raiding pharmaceuticals for medical supplies would be after all of the antibiotics. Outside of a lab setting, they would also be difficult to reproduce. ( Seriously though, he needs to kick the habit before he accidentally OD's someone or more likely OD's himself. )

It was a pointless choice from Telltale. God knows why they even included it because it obviously made no impact. The only thing that seems to be important is if Clem spits at David or not as you had to choose a choice there. There was no time limit

That's kinda what I meant: he didn't seem to give a damn about there being a little girl caring for a baby and certainly wasn't gonna cut her a break, no matter what she or Arvo said.
I've not chosen to give the medicine back. But if she does I know already they will kick her out and keep AJ. Knowing this, why wouldn't you try to save him? Clem was raised by people of strong conviction. She wouldn't let this opportunity pass. What surprised me was that she seemed shocked that David would want to keep AJ. (Kenny/Lee/Omid even Luke) wanted to protect her.
Clementine deserved it in both occasions. The New Frontier helped AJ as much as they can thinking logically and smartly. Giving AJ too much … morevancomycin would have overdosed him and killed him. Clementine did a dick move by stealing drugs even when she knew that the New Frontier do not tolerate thieves. AJ was kept as David knew that AJ would die under Clem's command.
Ya, and didn't buricko have nazi tattoos or something like that ( a Russian nazi, is there such a thing ) on his face? If people want to get totally super sick about shit, Clem being half black and his being a suggested white supremacist and having no problem unloading on the group... ooooweee that would be a hot topic.
That's kinda what I meant: he didn't seem to give a damn about there being a little girl caring for a baby and certainly wasn't gonna cut her a break, no matter what she or Arvo said.
Were they justified in kicking her out? Yes. She broke the rules and used up a valuable resource that could have meant the difference between life or death for another group member.
Were they justified in separating her from AJ? Heck no. That was just cruel. I also don't buy the reasoning that David wanted AJ to spend his last days comfortably. David just wanted to punish Clem in a way that would have really hurt her.
It was quite OOC for him but I think that's the best logic behind his decision. Ultimately, Telltale wanted Clem and AJ to be separated and for her SL for this season to be her trying to find him again. They had to make that happen somehow in the flashbacks and this seemed the opportune way to do it.
Yes and no. Clementine did what she did in cold blood. She made a plan to steal the correct drugs for AJ. New frontier tried to save him and a (high) Dr Lingard thought that AJ was a lost case, hence they didn't use vancomycin on him. Since Clem used them to a seemingly already dead person it was both a deception and a possible double murder (AJ if she abused the drugs and random person who would need them).
So she deserved to be kicked out. (Good intentions pave the road to hell) But, after AJ had died, imo. It would be a better and less cruel lesson for her.
Vancomycin is an antibiotic, and is generally only used as a last resort medication. An overdose can do lasting harm to an adult, think about how bad it could be for a toddler. Add to that the fact that Clem used an unsterilized needle to inject a little kid through his shirt, clearly also oblivious as to where even to inject the medicine in the first place, also using way too much of the medicine, and you have disaster just waiting to happen. I'm surprised AJ didn't die from that when he was already severly weakened by his sickness. Sometimes pain is better than the alternative. On top of all that, it's unlikely the medicine actually helped AJ even if he didn't suffer lasting consequences. The New Frontier did not lie about this. The Vancomycin could have been used on someone who actually needed it, and it was a waste of good medicine.
Well, I believe that she did the right thing. Let me explain myself:

That's been Telltale's writing formula for quite some time now.
Stoopud + "Choizuz" = $$$$
After Season 1, things have been going down lately. I can't trust anyone anymore.
Because he has a temper, he was very angry.
Sometimes peoples say stuff and don't really mean this.
He finally did what he thought was the right choice: keeping AJ safe and comfortable until the end.
Is it me or does Dr. Lingard seem to have gotten the monkey off his back? He looked healthier.
Perhaps he now used the drugs to treat the baby instead of using for personal fun.
My thoughts exactly. Extra points if he originally did so so AJ could at least be baked when dies.

So she deserved to be kicked out. (Good intentions pave the road to hell) But, after AJ had died, imo. It would be a better and less cruel lesson for her.
She deserved to be kicked out 100%. She deserved to keep AJ though, that was not fair really.
Also, I get the distinct feeling that AJ isn't actually alive.
