PAX hasn't even started yet. It doesn't start until Friday.
  • edited September 2010
Still, PAX starts on the 3rd, the game "find out more" date is the 2nd, so... is there an industry only day on the 2nd or something?

You've waited what, four days since the teaser was shown?

It's 4pm on the 1st of September in Telltaleland so you have a little while longer to wait yet.

Teasers like this can make four days seem like four months. I mean, the wait for TCTDNS made August feel like the longest month of the year so far.

DON'T CLICK SPOILERS UNLESS YOU'VE FINISHED SAM AND MAX 305!!!
I hope it's the story of how
    "real"
Max gets the help of three other awesome characters
to reunite with Sam and old/new Max
    .

I'm really exited for a cross over, although I doubt it's an adventure (which would be crazy amazing), I'll be plennnty happy with a card game. It'll help subdue my lagomorph cravings, at least untill Sam and Max Season 4, of course. ;)

I also would like a musical number pretty please.

That would be awesome, if not for the fact that it would have a big 305 spoiler at the center of the plot.

    ...shhhhh.
    I can dream.

I think people who are upset about it (possibly/probably) being 'just' a card game should consider that it can't be; it's not going to be like the spider solataire game every PC owner (at least the ones I know) has played. The unique characters and the entertaining dialogue (Two of the things Telltale is best at providing) are what will make the game worth purchasing and playing.

At first I was really hoping for a crossover, non-canon, one-episode adventure game featuring Strong Bad, Max, Gabe or Tyco(?) and somebody else. While this would still be awesome, someone suggested a new Telltale Holdem. At first, I was all "Pff, what? They've already done it. New characters won't make it very worthwhile." But then I thought of all the cool things they could add, now that they have a budget and experience. Like other casino games and unlockables. It could be a fun diversion.

I love Valve/Team Fortress. I love Homestarrunner. I love Sam and Max. And I while I don't own any games, I like Penny Arcade. If this is poker or a trading card game I will kill myself. You think I'm kidding, huh? Any point and click or online shooter or offline shooter or even a trivia game and I would cry with joy.

And It may have good dialogue, but it's still a CARD GAME with good dialogue and good characters.
  • edited September 2010
If it does turn out to be a card game, they should definately add some kind of online feature, so we can all duke it out against one another.
  • edited September 2010
If it's a card game I hope it's an exciting card game that has some game play value to it at least.
Man I can't wait for that announcement. Anyone have an idea when today it will come?

    Sometime between Yesterday and Tomorrow.

People who are hoping that it's not Telltale Texas Hold' Em 2, and haven't played the first one should play the first one and see what it's like. Or watch a gameplay video on Youtube. It's pretty cool, actually.

Yeah, the writing's great. I really recommend it.

If they do a Kingdom Hearts style game with these 4, it could very well turn out to be the greatest game of 2010. Because if I remember correctly, KH also had one of their games primarily using cards.

Right when it's announced on PAX, please post any gameplay videos online so that people who are unable to attend it can see.

A kingdom hearts game would be great. any shooter or adventure game i will jump on my desk and scream with joy.
  • edited September 2010
Or it could be a action/adventure type game where each character has their own playstyle. Like Max could be point n' click, the Heavy would be a third-person shooter (third-person to fit the rest of the game) and Tycho would have the turn-based RPG gameplay. Too bad it'll never happen..., but if this is a sequel to the poker game this will be the first time Telltale will let me down.

Poker with in-built point based cheating = excellent.
It is like game where you are supposed to cheat and it is allowed.

Sinaz is online. Want me to ask him when the estimated time is?
  • edited September 2010
I just put 9/2 into google translate, which told me they mean 2/9, which is today! Am eyeing the telltale twitter page for lack of any other sources at the moment...

Is there another trailer being released today, or just the name and basic info of it?

Honestly, I don't care! I just want to know what the hell it is exactly!

Nah, they've been doing that since TOMI, actually.

EDIT: Now this is interesting... 305 ad on penny-arcade.com...?

Telltale ads have been appearing on Penny Arcade for years now. I think it goes back to season 1.

Can't wait to see more! Interesting tweet by Telltale's own Sean Vanaman:
going to #PAX? expect to see an an awesome thing created in collaboration with @chuckbb at the @telltalegames booth.

I am unfamiliar with Chuck BB, but his artstyle is pretty cool. Exciting!

I can't see this being anything more than a new Texas Hold'Em. Does Telltale really have the resources to do Back to the Future episodes, Jurassic Park episodes, and a THIRD episodic series at the same time?
