The play the first one again and be patient.
The game will get released when it's ready and it will be awsome.
I wonder, would people rather a game get rushed and be either poor quality, unfinished, or shorter so it gets released on february 1st or done properly and released on the 28th. I'll take the better game over the quicker one.

Exactly, this happened with DC Online, they rushed to release it after a short Beta testing and they had to have a massive patch shortly after release, it happened with Fable 3 they promised too much and the PC release has been pushed back almost 6 months to get the 360 release out on time, same with Assasin's Creed Brotherhood on the PC. Thankfuly Bioware and Telltale generaly set themselves apropriate release dates and release their games on time and awsome.
Does Telltale usually release episodes on a specific day of the week? Like Fridays or Tuesdays.... or is it just random. Sorry if someone asked this already.

Then why not have the release date as 28th February even if it's ready before then? The problem I have is that I keep having to check the website for any news because they give little to no information until right before the episode is released. I'd actually rather wait a bit longer and know the dates well in advance so I can just switch off to the waiting, kind of like an actual tv series.

Because if something happened during development and it ended up having to be pushed into early March, people would complain like no one's ever delayed a game before. That's why companies like Nintendo have stopped giving out release dates until the games are almost ready(Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time 3D are prime examples). It's simply easier to give the month as a kind of rough estimate.

With sam and max and tales of monkey island we had pretty specific release dates (of course, they never mentioned the exact time)
If it comes out on the 28th it'll most likely come out in march for me

I don't think so, so take this with more than a grain of salt when I estimate: Thursdays and Tuesdays seem to be favored.

Why not just wait until the 28th then and you know it'll be available then. Problem solved.

But they've pretty much always kept to the month and all they have to do is give themselves plenty of extra time. In fact if they push back the release schedule another month they could have the games coming out on the 1st. Also when they gave out release dates back in the early days of Sam and Max series 1 & 2 they had no problems keeping to them. I doubt after all these years Telltale would have got worse at predicting release dates.

Great question, the answer is here with one of our own JP games from 98' which happens to be my favorite game of all time but it was rushed because of crazily high demand for it to be released after 3 years, so they didnt finish, but it was truly great, and as this guy says in his amazing review in the end, it is the very birthplace of physics technology.
People keep saying "would you rather have a finished game than a game with bits missing etc etc etc" !!
So can someone tell me what happened with the first episode then?
As that felt unfinished to me what with missing dialogue in many scenes,
game being too short and a little too easy (I think there is a thread about all these somewhere)
Hopefully they are taking the time to not make the same mistakes with episode 2
Well if it is released early, then people will complain that it's buggy. If they delay the release, then people will complain that they have to wait longer. They can't really win.
But why doesnt Telltale release the free episode? Im ok when they push back the new episode to make it better. but episode 1 is out since december. its really annoying to let the people wait for the 2nd episode so they can play the first episode.
i had to wait 2 months and every single day more to wait annoys me more and more.
Dunno if anyone said this already, but I think its simply because episode one is the only existing BBTF episode at present, and I am sure that a lot of people would be angry if they paid money for it while others got it free at the same time... It would have got rid of any reason to actually BUY the season till right now
So, Paying for the episode got you it earlier... That's fair in my mind (Making this the first pre-release deal telltale made that I ACTUALLY agree with)
As for the quality of the game... Lets face it, Episodics by nature have less time to produce and budget than most other things... But in the end you do get more, albeit with slightly lower quality. It's the same as Comparing TV to Movies!
Movies may have bigger booms and better car chases, but they also take 2 years to make... ill take 14 weekly TV episodes (every year, like clockwork) that are full of cheesy car chases, fake explosions, and rubber monsters that make me laugh cause of their cheapness rather than that one good movie chase... but then that's just my personal opinion
Edit: As for the 2 month wait, I think that this is the first time there has been a 2 wait between episodes since sam and max Episode 101. (The one strong bad episode may have also had a two month wait, but I cant recall) Either way, its been a while

Well, if you were so tired of waiting, why didn't you just go and buy it?
so who here saw the thread up saying get tannen was out before it was just removed? Got me all excited and looked in the game as well as on the telltale site!
Sadly this was not meant to be. No EU release for BTTF ep 1 this week (and still no Strong Bad because of the holiday delays), it seems.
Yeah, I'm starting to doubt TellTale these days, they've gone all Activision on us, they set a brilliant example last year with Sam & Max coming out a day or two after the PC version, IN ALL REGIONS, and yet now, they're struggling to even give a damn about getting stuff on the EU store, seems getting it on the NA store will do for them and the rest can shove it!
Might be over reacting for BTTF since it only came out yesterday on the NA store, but what the hell happened to Strong Bad? It's been over two damn months!

I saw it too ... They're probably re-uploading it right now...
Soooo, it's out today ... YIPPPIIIEEE! *cough* ... I'm mean, that's cool, what ever ...
That's just misinformation. Feb. 15th is the release date for Ep. 1 on PSN. The date has nothing to do with Ep. 2.
FYI, everyone, Ep 1 was released on the PSN (PlayStation Network), unfortunately IMO, it will be also a MONTHLY EPISODE release, just like the PC version. In case you wanted the PS3 version... it's THE SAME in everything.
Why no announcement this time about the release date?
What happened?
Usually Telltale tells the release date some day before, but what happened this time?
I wonder if this will be the Telltale standard for all their project, and they will never announce release date anymore, or if this happened just once by mistake.
It seems to me that there are some strange things with this release: it was unexpected, no informations on the blog, no pre-release review-copy for reviewers, and I can download the game but cannot see the trailer. Very strange.
Actually, a lot of the long-term community members wanted it that way. Keeps the forums less crowded, cuts the waiting stages by one, diminishes the "Waiting thread" to a mere three pages, counters the attack of the F5 refreshers on release day and so forth.
Also, less server crashes.
Short version: It's just plain less of a hassle to do it this way.
Concerning the trailer still not being "officially" online: That you may attribute to Telltale's trademark kamikaze marketing!
The first episode was awesome! Cannot wait for episode 2! Speaking of which is it suppose to come out next week? At the credits there was a trailer for the next ep and it said coming Feb 2011? It is possible that they forgot to change it from the pc version release date or they perhaps telltale is releasing it next week and then ps3 players will be caught up for ep 3 in march. I bet it is just a mix up but would be awesome if ep 2 came out next week to.
Well, not to stir up speculation, but if they HAD forgotten to change it from the PC/Mac release, the date given in the teaser would have been February 2010, not 2011.

Quoting myself for a little STATISTICS! I did a little research to see how accurate I was, and obviously, I hit the nail on the head:
Sam & Max Season 2 (2007-2008) release days:
Thursday, Thursday, Tuesday, Thursday, Thursday.
Tales of Monkey Island (2009) release days:
Tuesday, Thursday, Tuesday, Friday, Tuesday.
Sam & Max Season 3 (2010) release days:
Thursday, Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday, Monday.
Back to the Future (2010-2011) release days:
Wednesday, ??, ??, ??, ??.

Bit shocked really, wasn't expecting the sudden release, I can't wait to play it but they took it down again
EDIT: don't download the file! I'm 99.99% sure the setup will not work ...
