Yeah, I bought enough "episode 1's" from tell tale for the iPad that I'm refusing to buy Back to the Future until I see all the episodes appear. Not getting fooled again

Back to the Future IS going to be completed on iPad, as is Tales of Monkey Island.
When we want to put a game on any of the major consoles, we have to send Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo/etc a finished version of the game for approval. This approval process usually takes at least two weeks--sometimes longer, if the company finds problems or requests that changes be made. Every game that comes out for every console goes through this same process.
On Sam & Max Season 3, the PS3 versions were developed first, and the PC/Mac versions were finished while the PS3 versions were in the approval process. So when each episode was approved and we knew when it would be up on the Playstation Network, we could release the PC/Mac versions at about the same time.
With BttF, it was decided to develop the PC/Mac versions first, which is why they're coming out earlier--the PSN versions don't take that much longer to finish, but the approval process can take a while, and those versions can't come out until they're completely approved.
Hope that clears things up a bit.
Thank you for posting this. It does clear up the confusion that I had with the release dates coinciding with that of the PS3. However, I still think it would be nice to at least have estimated release times for some of the episodes on the PS3, being that the only ones on the site are the ones for the PC & Mac.
Thanks for the replies guys. I think the big thing is that the teaser was the PC versions teaser. In the future maybe changing the date or taking it off all together might help the confusion.
The US PSN and EU PSN have seperate Q.A. teams. I imagine it has been submitted to the EU PSN team and is just waiting to be be approved. Although I live in th UK, I was becoming impatient and downloaded it from the US store.

I'll personally wait for the EU release, as I see no point in making new PSN accounts just to get BttF earlier xD. Making separate accounts to use the other stores is still against the T&C, but as the EU staff have mentioned, they don't actively look for any users who do this.
The reason it was a surprise release was so no one would *FOUL LANGUAGE* and complain about how it's 12:01 AM their time and the episode wasn't released.

So instead they complained that the game wasn't released on february 1st. Guess the complainers gotta complain.
The most logical thing is to announce it's coming out the day after they plan to release it.
To be honest with you, it is great business on telltales end. Had they announced it, a lot of people would have shown up specifically on that date. Instead people show up every day so they got a lot more traffic to their site.

Naaaaaahhhh. Seriously, nothing beats the traffic of several thousands of TTG enthusiasts repeatedly hitting F5 every ten seconds on release days. Which they'd probably still do although we have established now that an episode upload is always preceded by 30-45 minutes of site/forum offline time.

yeah if the forum goes down and there's no episode, i will be very upset

I had a feeling Get Tannen was probably going to be up when the site was unavailable from noon until after 10(central standard time).:D
Hey all, sorry for my first post to be such a dumb question,
But I cant figure out how to get episode 2 for this new Back to the Future game.
I downloaded the bundle pack when it came out (aprox 217 megs) and it loaded Episode 1. I go back to PS store and try to find the new episode, and download it again and it loads Episode 1 only. I dont know where to get the Episode 2.
well is waiting a good thing?? i mean i heard that episode 2 PC/MAC got some problems and are TT fixing the bugs and all of the other problems that's happening on PC now and then transferring over to PS3 later?? and IPAD too lool forgot about that XD ... so whens Episode 2 come out on PS3?? or Ep 3 if it ever comes out =P
I played Episode III. Pretty awesome - cool twist that Biff Tannen turns out to be Jennifer's real father.
Nah. But I wish I had a time machine so I could find out the release date or just skip ahead and play the other episodes. However:
* I still need to finish Episode 1 let alone Get Tannen
* If I had a time machine, I doubt I would be playing a GAME about it
* I wouldn't be able to choose between having a phone booth with an impossibly large interior or a Delorean. Well, I'd probably choose the Delorean but a TARDIS would be just as tempting.
If there aren't any problems, BTTF Epsiode 1 will be released on the EU Store next week:

I found out today I have to wait 4 months just to finish the game !!? waste of 19.99 I should of purchased a used Race game or RPG game so I could play something this week !!

The other topic about this (but not so centered on just the UK) has some of the answers:

I was going to say between now and after it is released.
