  • That sounds about right. I feel like Nisha was a bit less capricious than Jack.

    (chaotic evil vs neutral evil?)

  • August has a smiley button(?) below his pocket

    enter image description here

And Tector has one on one of his overall straps (as well as a frowny face on the other)

    enter image description here

  • Sasha resembles Christina Milian in the face a bit. I couldn't find a pic where they both made a similar face to do this justice. It seems more prevalent when the two are in motion via game/tv than from a picture. I always thought she resembled someone, just couldn't identify who.

  • If the Tales present timeline is after Borderlands 2, how is Hector Alive in the present?

If I remember correctly most side quests are non canon so Tector could be alive if the story wanted him to.

  • Maybe only Jimbo was killed? I would hate it if it's canon that the Vault Hunters sides with the Hodunks over the Zafords.

Side-quests are totally canon. Hell, one of them has the Jack AI being developed.

  • That particular side quest is not. Tectors and Hodunks both still exist.

  • All side quests are canon (exception is Kill Yourself) but the ones with multiple endings can have "Canon" endings. I think this was discussed a while back, but it looks like siding with the Hodunks is the canon option sadly. (how will we get the slagga now gearbox? HOW??????)

  • They're both still around as of The Wedding Day Massacre, and they finally seem to stop feuding at the end of that one thanks to the common enemy of Moxxi and the Vault Hunters.

And as for Kill Yourself...there IS the option to NOT kill yourself in that quest.

And I haven't played the wedding day massacre so maybe I'm wrong!

  • It's my favourite of the Headhunter packs for sure. And I like the Headhunter packs. Something about all the characters running around doing dumb stuff like wedding planning and going on vacation just appeals to me.

Rhys is a guy and Fiona is a woman.

  • The fanbase is more obsessed with shipping than the actual game.

  • Vasquez is asleep.

  • The Borderlands fandom apparently thinks every POC is actually just "tanned".

    ... Seriously? Who says that?

A friend of mine thought Fiona and Sasha were just olive skinned (and it's very possible that they could be), but characters like Cassius are nowhere near "tan".

Also just correct your friend, just show them page 1 of that "Telltale forcing ships?" thread.

    People are really stupid.

Also Edit: I saw the page, and I ended up googling Mediterranean, because it's kinda vague, and if Fiona and Sasha are that, there's like a billion different races/ethnicities that they could be. Still kinda vague. Don't want to get into an argument or anything. Will shut up and contemplate why people can't understand that a woman named Nisha Kadam is not white.

  • Its so funny(no, not really) that people can't accept the fact that Fiona and Sasha are NOT white and that they dont have a defined "race", but then go begging to Anthony Burch asking him to confirm Jack as latino, because he's soooo brown and definitely not tanned, because who doesn't wants a handsome latin lover™?!

Im ambiguous at Telltale for simply saying mediterranean, because this way any person that is dark skinned can identify with them, however it falls on the Ambiguously brown trope and that is sometimes not a good thing.

But other than that, characters like Roland, Aurelia, Yvette and Nisha are so not white, but the actual tanned white guy is definitely a POC..

  • Holy shit, I 100% agree with everything you just said!

It's actually gotten to the point where I see fanart of Fiona and Sasha being whiter than Handsome Jack - hell, I saw some fanart the other day of Rhys being more tanner than Fiona. I think it's because Handsome Jack fans (tumblr wise) are the worst and I realize, if TFTBL didn't exist, no one would care for Handsome Jack's race or sexuailty. And I'll spare you the rant about why people only care about that.

Its so funny(no, not really) that people can't accept the fact that Fiona and Sasha are NOT white and that they dont have a defined "race",

  • Yes, i think the problem lies within the fandom itself, because ttg and anthony burch have said one thing and the fandom does the contrary. I think the fault here mostly goes for gif makers and image makers, because they add their classical filters to their compositions and eventually make what's light, lighter and what's dark, darker and this way Fiona ends up whitewashed, and Sasha being darkened. And this opens the breach to artists drawing Fiona white, and Sasha as dark as possible, which is wrong, because a) They are sisters and share a very similar skintone and b) whitewashing is never good in any context.

As for people drawing Fiona whiter than Rhys that is pretty much racist behavior, especially known as colorism, where the female HAS to be whiter than the male, because ???? I dont even know why? Its true females are lighter than males in certain etnicies (mostly mixed raced etnicies) but Rhys/Vaughn/Jack and Fiona/Sasha are not from the same etnicy? So how does that work?

As for the handsome jack tumblr fans problem it all boils down to the hot 2 white guys syndrome? I mean its time to be realistic and understand that a) when two white guys hate each other for their own reasons, and those 2 guys are hero & villain, you are falling for that fanon trope, b) when the ship tag (in this case rhack tag) is full of porn drawings and audios and fics, you are watching a hyper fetichized gay ship. Mostly know as the "hawt Yaois". Which btw, you are not doing a good for the LGBTA+ community by hypersexualize gays, you are not doing a good for the Bisexual community by forcing writters to make a straight guy Bi just so the hot yaois are canon and not because Bisexuals need representation, you are not doing a good for latinxs by making actual Space hitler a hot latin lover stereotyped guy and lastly for the love of god STOP. ALIENATING. FIONA AND SASHA !

If you dont know whats that btw, is the classical white fandom behavior of conveniently see a character as a character of color ONLY if it has love intentions with a white fave (aka Rhysha/ Rhyiona) and conveniently seeing those ships as brother/sister relationship or only platonic by making the PoC some sort of heartless, emotionless asexual so that way Fiona or Sasha cannot feel any sort of emotion towards Rhys, and that way Rhys can totally hook up with Jack and/or Vaughn.

Tl;dr : The tftbl tumblr fandom is whitest fandom of the block

POC? And does this have to do with Fiona and Sasha? Cause after having like 6 playthroughs, (I did A LOT of different choices and possibilities) I actually still don't see them as different races, but rather as Fiona is just a little more pale. I'm sorry, I need an elaboration cause I usually try not to get involved on this topic. BUt you seem to have a good understanding of this and I could really use a better explanation about the two.

  • I still don't get why this is such a huge deal, but I always thought it was pretty obvious that Sasha is darker than Fiona, to the point where I assumed they're not actually blood relatives. I don't go to Tumblr a lot, but I've never noticed any tricky filters or oddly coloured fanart either. In any case, I would think two white guys who've lived on a space station for years would be paler than just about anyone on Pandora.

Maybe Borderlands cell-shaded graphics are playing tricks on everyone's eyes and we're all seeing slightly different character models or something. Yeah, that makes sense.

You know what, forget I said anything. Didn't know POC was People of Color; and now that I just looked at the two next to each other, it's pretty clear to me they're really not THAT different in some cases. They aren't even tan, that's for sure. But like c0ntinue and HelloWorld said, they're more olive or a mediterranean skin toned. I'm sorry but I just have a hard time commenting on this topic cause it feels like if I make one wrong move or say something it will offend someone.

Oh my god yes, I see people try and say Rhys is like a brother towards Fiona and Sasha, which is annoying as hell because a.) In episode 3 - no matter what you did - Rhys did have feelings towards Sasha and you can have him still have those feelings towards her post ep 5 and b.) Rhys can imply he's interested in Fiona - assuming by the way he looks at her after. If they was like two sisters to him, why would he be romantically interested in them?? And whilst Aro/Ace headcanons are good, acting as if Fiona and Sasha are soulless monsters with no hearts, who can’t feel love, whether that's platonically and/or romantically, isn't.

And I once saw a Rhack shipper try and make out Rhysha and Rhyiona shippers are going around claiming others as racist for not like those ships. As far as what I've seen, they've only bring up about those ships being interacial if they point out the problem with those ships being shitted on and the fact any pros of them get’s wiped out because they are hetrosexual. Like, I get the fact that both are heteronormative - which is a valid argument - but the way those ships got treat after episode 2 was awful. It’s super hypocritical too, considering people see an abusive relationships between two white men better than a healthy relationship between a mediterranean woman and white man.

But yet, I’ve been on Tumblr for almost three years by now so I’m not even shocked nor surprised anymore with what comes out of Tumblr's mouth to protect they’re hot yaois and white faves.

  • This is actually why I avoid the site. I heard of stuff like this; (The forums just about confirmed all of it. I am thankful you all pointed this stuff out) I went there ONCE to find a Tales GIF and I instantly felt like bleaching my eyes out. Really I just look up some funny tumblr posts, (That actually make sense. And people usually just share them) and most of the time they're okay. But if I even step foot into the site on my own, then I will instantly regret every second of it.

  • Dude yes, i have been on tumblr since 2011, so any of the treatment the other ships that aren't rhack or gayperion get, doesnt surprises me anymore. But what did surprised me was that people legitimately believe the girls and other characters are not POC but tanned. Also i somewhat got surprised to see that tumblr has a giant fetish for feminized Rhys? Its not even trans headcanons or genderfluid stuff, but just Rhys being treated by Jack by a woman. But Gods forbid Rhys gets with Fiona or Sasha because Ew hetero!!!1 Heteronormative!!!1!

And about the racist part, c'mon, if you act like a racist even though you deny it, people are going to call you out! Seriously, how many times i have stumbled on fics where Sasha doesnt exists, were Sasha dies, where Rhys is the brother of Fi and Sasha, where the sisters are sooo badass they cannot feel love, au in which this au in which that and the sisters get alienated. If you whitewash Fi and Sasha you are being racist, if you didnt knew you were racist you can change! If you dont ship rhysha is ok! Same for Rhyiona! It doesnt makes you racist! But saying you dont ship them because you see them and siblings, or because its hetero only because you "dont see color" you are acting as one. An interracial ship is as much as important as a white gay ship. And i thank telltale so much for making Sasha a love interest without the gross tropes of Strong independant black woman, Spicy latina and hot g*psy girl...

I mean remember that time someone made here a thread saying that they hated telltale for queerbaiting them because rhack didnt made it canon? And they completely ignored Janey and Athena being lesbians and rhysha and rhyiona as interacial ships? Thats how much they dont care about the game at all, only the hot yaois..

  • Dont gets us wrong, the tumblr experience™ changes for everyone, if you follow people who like rhysha/rhyiona thats what you will see in your dashboard, so does rhack, it all depends on who you follow, and if you dont want to see rhack on the tales tag, you can easily blacklist it, however that doesnt saves you if someone dont tag their hate/porn stuff correctly.

I have met good people on tumblr, like lotti-lu who know the rhack problem, but go on with their stuff about other ships. Tumblr is not that bad, but fandoms are, as i said, a big problem for your likes, if you excuse abuse like that because hot yaois and if you dont like it you are homophobic and blah blah blah.

  • Oh god that thread. Honestly, I just ignored it because I was so done with Tumblrs shit that day. The episode 5 ending was really great, but it got so much shit just because Rhys never got with Handsome Jack or Vaughn.

I read their rant on Tumblr - which was about 3 parts long - about how telltale was "queerbaiting". It baffles me because Rhack never had a chance of becoming canon, it was clear from miles away. And they made out if they was no queer representation at all and every queer person who played the game agreed with them.

Personally, as someone who is queer for themselves, I thought the game did have a good representation. You had Janey and Athena, two lesbians who could get married at the end of the game. Sasha flirted with a woman and the Hyperion guard and his boyfriend??? That was in the game too. Also the game never said any of the characters was straight at all.

And the part where you mentioned the fics is true, I can't read one platonic fic without being Sasha and Fiona being heartless. The only fics I have read where they are not is if they are paired up with someone - other than Rhys, of course.

Dude yes, i have been on tumblr since 2011, so any of the treatment the other ships that aren't rhack or gayperion get, doesnt surprises me

This is really true and I haven't put it into as much consideration. But while I'm looking at Hammerlock, I gotta give them props to his character design. There's so much going on with his look. The tranqs, robot arm and leg (Never actually noticed his robot leg) and hos vest overall. I don't know why I stated this, but I digress. This is quite debatable. You could say they had mixed heritage down the line or something like that. Or you could say Hammerlock is pale from being in such harsh, cold weather; but then again Aurelia literally controls ice.

EDIT: Aurelia does looks fairly white in her promotional poster, but slightly darker in gameplay. I wonder if it's just Pre-Sequel's darker color tones. I don't know. I really don't want to offend anyone on this on accident and I'm not sure if I should go further with this post.
