Stranded: interactive story
This is my second story, so yay!
This story is based on a passenger liner, the Olympus, headed from the UK to the US, on a routine voyage. As natural, that's when things go wrong. The ships mechanic finds a device in the ships HVAC unit, the ships captain radios it in and the Olympus is forbidden to dock. That's when it gets bad. People on board get sick, some just disappear, some die, and some can't take it. But some are strong enough to try to survive, marroned just of the eastern coast of Georgia, the remaining crew and passengers must fight for survival, against an unknown disease, and against each other.

Backstory: He is from a very, very, very poor family. His parents had to abandon him when he was 15 years old because they didn't have enough money to take care of him. He has lived in the streets ever since. After a few weeks of being in the streets, he had no other choice than to become a criminal. He met some people who helped him to start his career. It all started nicely, he earned a lot of money by stealing from the rich. It all was okay until he agreed to kill one man called "Peter Mall". He was a millionare who had done some very bad things to a friend of his, so he took the job. + He was promised a lot of cash for doing it. He sneaked to the guy's mansion, picked the lock and stabbed the guy to death. After trying to leave the place, he realized it was a trap made by this "friend" of his. The police was on the scene like 10 seconds after he killed the guy. Jake ended up in prison, but not long ago he bailed out. Now he's hiding on the ship to get to USA and start a new life.

Back story: She loves the ocean. Her father always went with her sailing and she always liked it. Also she always played to the "captain" of the boat. They also fished some fish. She eat it like that , without cooking. She decided that when she grow up , she will be captain. And she ended up like one. She was bullied in the school for having red hair. In ther last job beofre in the Olympus , she got pregnant of a chef of the boat , but she doesn´t know it.

Appearance: Samantha is graceful, but athletic. She is 5 feet 4 tall and has pale skin as well as shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes. She has a very pretty smile and uses it to her advantage.
Back story: Samantha was born in a very rich family and was always her parents little princess. She is adventurous and fun-loving and in younger years, her brother was very supportive of that. Her parents died when she was 15 years old, due to a car crash. Afterwards her brother took it up on himself to raise her, not realizing that she was almost a grown woman at that time. To her chagrin, Marcus insisted on treating her like a child and being very overprotective of her. She got increasingly sarcastic and tomboyish as a result of this and even more adventurous. When she was 18, she decided to take acting classes, but her deep passion has always been travelling around the world. Her brother got a job on board the Olympus and as a result they often travel together.

Job and skills: Samantha is a professional rich girl. After she and her brother inherited the money from their parents, she stopped working, instead she's taking acting classes now. She is a good actress and able to manipulate people. She is a great shot with a bow and highly intelligent. Because of her natural charisma, she tends to get along with people very well, even when she first comes of as snarky.
Relations to others: She is Marcus Bishops little sister. They have a stable relationship, that get's a bit strained from time to time when Marcus get's a little bit overprotective on her. In the worst case she will always have his back however.
Other info: She prefers being called Sam or Sammy. She has a sarcastic streak and can even get bratty or mean, but never really means it. When things get worse, she becomes very level-headed and serious. She usually is absolutely not lady-like, except if it is to get what she wants.
Name: Marcus Bishop

Appearance: Marcus has a very imposing physique, standing 6 feet 6 tall, completely ripped, with a shorn head and blue eyes. He is tanned and has a few nasty scars from his former time as a soldier.
Back story: Marcus was born in a rich family and from a very young age he was basically his sisters caretaker. At age 18 he joined the army and spent a few years in a war. When he was 21, his parents were killed in a car accident and he resigned from the army to care for his sister. His terrible incompetence at raising a teenage girl, paired with his inability to understand that he wasn't dealing with a child anymore, shaped Samantha into the sarcastic and tomboyish young woman she is today. He is very unhappy about this and how strained their relationship is at times. For her sake he took up a job on the Olympus, to stay with her when she travels around the world.
Likes: Protecting his sister from any potential danger, Working out, Hanging out with his friends, Being useful and helping other people
Dislikes: Men who drool over his sister, Cowards, Weaklings,
Job and skills: First Mate on board of the Olympus, former soldier. He is immensely strong and very resourceful and he also knows a great deal about military tactics and using a firearm.
Relations to others: Samantha Bishop is his little sister. He deeply cares for her and after the early death of their parents he is very overprotective of her. Sometimes they get into arguments, but in the end he would always forgive his sister.
Other info: He usually stays calm, barely raising his voice and is a genuinely nice guy as long as you don't get on his bad side. He tries to get along well with anyone, but is not afraid of getting into a fight. He believes in giving people second chances if they deserve it. He was forced to shoot unarmed people during the war and suffers from occasional nightmares because of this.
Name: Philip Jon.
Age: 42.
Class: Crew.
Appearance: Stands about 5"11" tall, wears the crew outfit, and a bandanna around his neck.
Backstory: Philip lived with his family up until 24 years ago, their he ran away and joined the crew of a ship, now 24 years later...He wishes to return home.
Dislikes: The Captain, he finds her unbearable with good reason, she's tried to get him to retire for as long as he can remember, although he doesn't hate her, but he dislikes her actions and choices.
Likes: To fight, fence, and anything with sword play.
Job and skills: Works as the crews navigator. Great swimmer, good in a fight.
Relations to others: Dislikes the Captain and will likely disagree with her on almost everything. He's friendly with everyone, this does include the Captain.

Back story: He lived with his granparents in Italy when hia parents died when he was 8. His granfather, an Italian Resistance Movement member against Fascist Italy, taught him how to hunt and survive and, his granmother, taught him how to cook and take care of injuries. Italo lived next to Milano Aquila, a guy who (before going to the US) taught Italo the basics of being a mechanic. Italo travelled to the UK to get a job (as "Peter Mall"'s maid), but Italo was fired a week before the death of "Peter". He went on the Olympus to find a nother job in the US and to stay at his friend Milano Aquila's house.
Likes/dislikes: Likes advanture. Dislikes 1st Class people, capitalism and people giving him orders.
Job and skills: Hunt, take care of injuries and cook. He learned the basics of being a mechanic.
Relations to others: Milano Aquila (friend), Ana Casabianca (grandmother), "Peter Mall".

Appearance: White skin, short brown hair, cold blue eyes, 6'5, slim, muscled, peach fuzz, earring on the left ear, athletic build.
Likes/Dislikes: Likes pie, being around friends, coffee, travelling, lifting weights, playing video games. Dislikes strangers, when people question him, sunny days, flying(which is why he's taking a boat), accents, people of other races(he's a racist), and moral people.
Job and Skills : Had a part time job as a waiter back home, but is moving to the States for a new life, and new job. He is strong, courageous, pragmatic, serious, and prepared for anything.
Relations to Others: Left after his mother died, and his father had left when he was a kid. Has no relations except maybe a friend on the boat.

Appearance: Tanned skin, short black hair and beard turning white. Can be described as rough looking. 6'0. Hair on arms, callouses on hands, a few scabs on legs. Deep scar on the back of his left hand.
Likes/Dislikes:Likes reading books, helping people, fighting(though he doesn't unless necessary), being alone sometimes, children(no pedo), drinking, gambling, chess, telling stories. Dislikes troublemakers, teenagers, tight spaces, awkward situations, and a limp in his right leg that sometimes slows him down.
Job and Skills: Currently a cop. Knows how to use a gun, but sometimes can get too aggressive if intimidated. Has decent knowledge of how to judge people, crime, and the law.
Relations to Others: Visiting brother and children in the US. Has a wife who couldn't go because she's afraid of travelling by boat, and Mark hated flying.

Age: 25
Class: Second
Apperance: He has brown hair, being covered by a red baseball cap that says Red Sox on it. He wears a bubble vest and a white shirt under it, along with jeans and sneakers.
Personality: He is a very optimistic and charming individual, and tries to help out when someone is in need. While he would likely not give his own life for another, he has a soft spot for the elderly and children. While he is optimistic and happy generally most of the time, he will get angry and even furious at others.
Likes and Dislikes: He likes the elderly, and also likes children if they are not bratty. He enjoys reading and watching TV, and gets a rus of adrenaline whenever he helps someone out. He dislikes people he would deem an asshole, being trapped, and snobby people in general. Pretentious people are at the top of his list for hatred however.
Jobs and Skills: Marty has a good office job, but while it does give him good pay it does not relieve any stress away from him. He was in the Boy Scouts, which he realized will not help him that much in real life, but he can start a fire and he can tie a knot.
Relations to Others: Marty is traveling inward to see his girlfriend again, as she had just moved to a different continent, and he was moving with her. He doesn't know anybody else on the boat yet, preferring to keep his ears plugged in with headphones and his eyes shut to a book.

Samantha Bishop
Samantha walked down the dock she was on her way to the Olympus, the ship that would bring her across to the United States. She didn't have to worry about her bags, her brother Marcus already took care of them. they would be in her room waiting for her. as she got closer the ship came into view, although she traveled on it all the time it still took her breath away. the Olympus was massive in size, Samantha didn't know the exact measurements but she did know that its one of the biggest on the waters. as she got closer she noticed a woman approaching, one of the crew. her red hair was tucked under her hat. Samantha had seen that hat before, its the captins hat. the woman stopped just in front of Samantha.
"hello, you must be Samantha. im Angelica, the captain of the Olympus." she said sticking her hand out for a hand shake.
"nice to meet you Angelica. Why are you here?" Samantha said shaking Angelicas hand.
"your brother Marcus, our First Mate, asked if I could come and collect you. he heard about some protests nearby and didn't want you in it." Angelica answered.
"Just like my brother to over react to every minor problem". Samantha said. Angelica didn't answer, just smiled a little and lead Samantha towards the ship. on the way Angelica took pleasure telling her all about the ship and how she had become captain. all about how she used to sail with her dad, and how they ate fish raw. Samantha though she might have to try that sometime.
soon they were on board the massive ship, the massive vessel had an equally amazing deck to match. their was a giant on board pool, and shops inside the ship. the ship was awe-inspiring at every turn. Samantha's favorite part of the ship was the bow. it was beautiful, she could stand there for hours just watching the sea and sun. she loved to watch the sun rise over the ocean in the morning. her thoughts were cut short when someone nearby threw up all over the deck. great way to start a journey across the ocean! Angelica grabbed her radio off her belt and asked for a janitor to clean it up. Angelica led Samantha down a hallway that led towards the rooms. she approached a door and produced a key and unlocked the door. she pushed the doors open and ushered Samantha inside. as soon as she entered the room she loved it. first class had its benefits. a nice large TV and a huge king sized bed. and even a minifridge!
"what took you so long"? a voice said, this time deep and masculine. no one should have been in here, but she wasn't afraid. she recognized the voice.
"oh, you know. thought id go hang out with the protesters for awhile." Samantha casually remarked.
"nice. now seriously, where were you?" he said.
"why do you care so much Marcus? I was in traffic." Samantha said.
"its my job to care Samantha. I cant let you get hurt." he said.
"well care less, im not a child anymore." Samantha said.
"Samantha! I cant NOT care!" he didn't raise his voice, he barely ever dose. he said it in a hard and commanding tone that made Samantha angry. she didn't like people dictating her life. Samantha was just beginning to say something when Angelica, who had been quiet until then, spoke up.
"stop that both of you. im not going to have you two fighting all the way across the Atlantic." she said. Marcus glared at Samantha like he had more to say, but he knew better than to disobey the captain.
"were leaving soon. I need you at your post." she continued. Marcus reluctantly agreed and left the room, but not before shooting Samantha a "this isn't over" look. Angelica turned and followed Marcus out of the room. leaving Samantha alone. "where to first?" she asked herself. an entire ship to explore, and all the time a person would ever need.

Great first part! Glad to see that Sammy got introduced so early
I really like your writing, it was definitely fun to read and I'm looking forward for this story! My only criticism would be, that you sometimes forgot to write in capitals at the beginning of a sentence. It didn't really bother me that much, but I noticed and sometimes it was slightly distracting.
