Actually, I agree. Just when most people started to dislike Luke, I began appreciating him.
I was like:
"Oh, look. He's not our precious savior anymore."
I still didn't care about him, though. Maybe because he still fucked up in that scene.
In No Going Back, Luke just seemed so natural and genuinely likeable. Even though he was still a tryhard at the beginning. "We can't just sit here!". But, I also saw it as having balls.
I didn't feel like I had enough reasons to really love Luke until that conversation in EP. 5. He relly grew up on me. Also, "Thanks, Clem. I… more'd do the same."
The moment for me was when he was done sexing Jane, and he flips out and starts yelling about trying to enjoy his life for five minutes. That line made him feel more human, everyone has their bad moments.
Even Mr Nice Guy.
The Kenny Endings are a 5-Star Entree hidden in a Styrofoam container.
The Non-Kenny Endings are a crap-sandwich on a silver platter hidd… moreen under a dome cover.
It's one thing for someone to be tricked into getting the crap-sandwich by not using all of their senses (some people could smell what was coming) but the saddest thing is watching them try to justify their choice while they choke it down. They're not even stuck with it, they could get the delicious and nutritious ending anytime they want...but alas their stubborn pride will force them to eat shit for eternity.
1) and others will tell you if you give terrorists what they want you get more terrorism. Granted this wasnt Kenny's smartest move but i giv… moree him credit for wanting to fight to protect his people. The blame for Walters death is squarely on Carvers shoulders where it should be.
2) Again I will admit that when Kenny was fired up he had tunnel vision that impaired his decision making. At least he wanted to escape everybody else seemed to content to be Carver's sheep, even after they were living at his camp for a while.
3) Not that big a deal considering he didn't believe somebody who had a group of armed thugs attack them.
Since I admit Kennys faults in my initial post I obviously didnt mean for you to take my Topic Title that stupidly literal. I just meant he was right about everyone in the group, and the what the best plan was for Clem and AJ.
dear god now people are just gonna attack the title of this topic as if I meant it literally. Kenny was right about everything that mattered in the end of season 2 is what I should have said. Its just not provocative enough of a title sorry.
Guys, guys! I've just realised something! Kenny is right about everything after all! And his wisdom and experiences have taught us all so mu… morech!:
* Cancer patients are backstabbing traitors! Don't trust anyone with any kind of illness!
* Finding a boat to the sea without supplies is a brilliant plan that will never backfire in absolutely no way whatsoever!
* Teenager boys are the devil who will get your family killed!
* Black people are 'urbans' who can pick locks no matter what they say!
* Calling Russians 'Eurotrash' and 'Russkies' are acceptable!
* We don't speak English, we speak American! How on Earth did we get that wrong the whole time?
* If people don't agree with your plans, it's okay to abandon them when they need your help in life-or-death scenarios, they're not your friends if they dare to have an opinion of their own!
* Thinking is overrated, lets go with our emotions and beat our way through!

Jane saves your life twice. Once when she intervenes during the firefight, and the second time when she runs back onto the ice and drags you out of the water. (The reason why she tells you not to try to save Luke is because helping him would most likely get you killed - it nearly does and she saves you.)
If she were selfish she would have left and never came back. She wouldn't have risked her life on the ice to save you. She was cautious and wary around people because she had bad experiences with groups - Omid and Christa, Molly - they were cautious about groups, too.
agreed on both points. I admit Kenny was not perfect and he was definitely reckless with how he tried to protect those he loved. All im sayi… moreng is that didnt make me want shoot him over selfish Jane. Id rather have somebody who would fight for me than abandon me. My Topic Title is mostly just trying to be provocative and get people to come in here and share their thoughts. Guess its working.
At least you have good debating skills unlike somebody else here cough zyke cough
"the human race has pretty much disappeared in the walking dead universe" So we are seeing the stories of aliens then? LoL wtf kind of statement is that. Second of all the idea that the human race will go extinct is never threatened. For the most part the walkers arent even that much a threat compared to other survivors now. The walking dead universe has tons of themes about maintaining values and rebuilding society and very few themes that imply extinction of the human race.
If there truly was a ZA I sincerely hope I would have a gaurdian more like Kenny who would fight and die to protect me than I had a gaurdian like you / Jane who would probably throw me into a group of walkers just to create a distraction to save her own life. Not sure why you would ever put a person like that on some kind of heroic pedestal. Is your idea of a hero somebody who would strangle their own baby out of fear of saving their pathetic cowardly life?
I dont know if you realized this, but human race has pretty much disappeared already in the walking dead universe and will most likely go ex… moretinct. Keeping a baby alive would be ok, if you were originally in place like Wellington. However, when you had the baby, you didnt have any factual evidence about the existance of Wellington, only stories, so picking Kenny instead of Jane was already irrational decision (taking account all the facts you knew at that current moment).
I call Kenny murderer, because Kenny fans deny him being one. And i rather go with murderer, who has logical/rational reason to kill someone, instead of Kenny, who just kills people because he is angry.
You dont seem to debate much, since you declare others losers, before they even reply back at you.
I think Luke was feeling like he had to do something, like he was already feeling guilty for the others that didn't make it, and he wanted to protect the rest from the Rooskies. Luke had survivor's guilt maybe a little. Man one thing i respect Luke for is when Kenny was being antagonistic at the campfire, by belittling Luke's "Career choice.", he just took it in stride.
Actually, I agree. Just when most people started to dislike Luke, I began appreciating him.

if you let go of your humanity your dead already. Dead on the inside. I also refute that notion that only inhumane people can survive in a ZA, despite the fact it is a main theme of TWD in general.
By default, survival is main priority of every living thing in this planet, like it or not. Sure you can adapt to different worldviews and s… moreet personal goals for life.
But in case of za, eventually you have to let go of your humanity, or you will end up dead.

oh i never disputed she saved your life, and i said in the OP i liked Jane. I didnt want to kill her. I am sad that she picked a fight she could not win but I wasn't going to kill Kenny to save her she put that on herself.
Sorry but to me she was selfish. She was always advising the group to abandon people. the baby.... sarah..... oh and by the way if it werent for that board hitting her in the head they might have saved Sarah but she wasnt willing to take the risk in the first place. Do i think that makes her a person that deserves to die. NO. She is just not my choice of a trustworthy companion. But her picking a to the death fight with Kenny got her killed and I was sad. I really did like her character it was deep. All of my arguments only explain why I wasnt willing to shoot Kenny over her.

I wouldnt want to have "guardian" like Kenny with me, since he would only cause problems with his inability to change his opinions, his anger issues, his reckless behaviour and stupid plans. Sure he might sacrifice his life for me, but while he is not doing that, he is getting me in trouble.
Someone Like Jane would do her best to keep me safe and i'd do the same to her (if we had similar relationship as Jane and Clem). The reason i like Jane is that we are very similar with objective/rational/logical worldviews and people like me/Jane are rather rare.

He actually says it. He feels guilty for everyone's death. No wonder he's always trying to be a hero. Shit. There's nothing worse than that "I could have done more" feeling.
when Kenny was being antagonistic at the campfire, by belittling Luke's "Career choice.", he just took it in stride.
Haha, I always took it as them just joking around. I thought Kenny said it for a laugh. I mean, they were just starting to get along. Moments like that where you get to crack a joke at someone and he goes along with it are truly amazing.

Well i define the best option as the one which increases your chances of survival the most. So if the question was "which decision will most likely increase your chances to stay alive", the "best" answer would be going with Jane.
Moral values change over time, (since they are subjective) so this humanity you speak of, would disappear.
If you look back in time, there are some horrific things people did which everyone considered moral thing to do.
if you let go of your humanity your dead already. Dead on the inside. I also refute that notion that only inhumane people can survive in a ZA, despite the fact it is a main theme of TWD in general.
Well whats the point of living in the first place? There is no purpose or meaning to our lives, so we must figure them out ourselves. Set your personal goals and live by them.
lol its so true though. Few would dare even argue that the Jane endings are in any way shape or form a more positive outcome (in terms of safety/survival/security) for Clem or AJ. Wellington has the walls, a large community, tons of resources, etc. etc. She could have a normal life. And yet it seems as though people choke the ending they got down because their pride wont let them admit they got duped into killing the person who cared about them most. They are forced to defend eating their shit ending forever lol. Cracks me up so hard.
I havent had this much fun debating since the Mass Effect 3 Ending message boards! I guess that a good ending can provoke just as much debate a horrible crappy ending too.
If he ever insults you, you should just flag him. It isn't worth letting him get away with these things while the mods can take care of him. Respect is the first rule of the forum guidelines and I doubt he's been following that one.
no if i was yelling IT WOULD BE LIKE THIS. I just said dont take things stupidly literal. Like if i said "thats so cool!" and you said "it doesnt feel that cold to me." that would be stupidly literal. MMMMKKKKKK
Haha, I always took it as them just joking around. I thought Kenny said it for a laugh. I mean, they were just starting to get along. Moments like that where you get to crack a joke at someone and he goes along with it are truly amazing.
Kenny wasn't doing it to be funny, He was just negative, i don't blame Kenny, i totally understand what he is going through because i was diagnosed with PTSD three years ago myself.
Kenny's pain is so raw, he hasn't developed any way to deal with his anger, rage, sadness, self loathing whatever. It took me a long time to get okay with with who i am, especially after coming back to the states. I spent a lot of nights drinking alone talking to dead friends or enemies. I Isolated myself from other people, I didn't want to spend time with anyone, i just wanted to be left alone.
I think Luke understood that he was in pain and he didn't antagonize him like Jane would have. That is why i respect him for it, i know its a little silly to say you respect a fictitious character, but there you go.
He actually says it. He feels guilty for everyone's death. No wonder he's always trying to be a hero. Shit. There's nothing worse than that … more"I could have done more" feeling.

You're going to blame her for getting hit in the head as an example of being selfish? That's not very rational. I don't think you know what the word selfish means. She stayed in trailer waiting for Clem as she tried to convince her to leave Sarah - she was looking out for Clementine, not herself. If she were looking out for herself she would have been out of the trailer right behind Luke - more likely she never would have put herself in that position in the first place by distracting the walkers.
I forgot to note that she stopped and helped Rebecca and Clementine to find their way out of the herd. If she were selfish she would have just walked away.
oh i never disputed she saved your life, and i said in the OP i liked Jane. I didnt want to kill her. I am sad that she picked a fight she c… moreould not win but I wasn't going to kill Kenny to save her she put that on herself.

This post makes me happy. I could not agree more with you about this post. I really thought that a lot of people who just flat out didn't like Kenny leaped at the chance to shoot him, it was finally their excuse to do so. Telltale was kind enough to not just give us 1, but 2 chances to shoot Kenny. So, even if people didn't like Jane or Kenny, they could both be done away with.
Kenny may be quick to act, and irrational sometimes, and fairly rough, but he was right, about a lot of things. And above all else, I truly think he wanted to protect what was left of what he considered his family.
no if i was yelling IT WOULD BE LIKE THIS. I just said dont take things stupidly literal. Like if i said "thats so cool!" and you said "it doesnt feel that cold to me." that would be stupidly literal. MMMMKKKKKK

I did not say "stupidly literally" as you try to quote me, because that would be grammatically incorrect. Please try again though.
Come on, I was being sarcastic. It's meant to be a joke.
I would never let go of My humanity, even if it meant i would have to die to keep it, thats the same thing i would do irl
Way to go shitting on others opinion

Well that is exactly the reason you wouldnt survive very long.
Whats the point of livin when you aint got humanity?
Its gotten to the point where I'm just assuming everyone is in on some joke and I just don't get it.

It's how we pass the time waiting for Season 3. No harm done here.
I could live here without any troubles. I can barely see any humans when i walk to the shop, so what about walkers in za?
Its a shame zombies aren't real.... You have no way of saying "I told you so"

Cool temperature and cool slang mean completely different things.
There is no "everything" slang. Everything means everything. It's an all inclusive statement and misusing it is stupid. :P
