Not really an artist my self but this topic got me inspired. So here is my first attempt to draw guybrush. Not completely satisfied with the face, but overal i'm happy with it.

I've extended my group-shot a bit and made it into a poster (or DVD-cover):

I love Laserschwert's stuff. Would it be too much to ask for a non-grainy version of that poster?
  • edited December 2009
I agree, it looks very good!
You may have answered this already, but you managed to rip the models and render them?

Right. Or did you mean HOW I ripped them? I'm not sure if Telltale is comfortable with me giving that away...
  • edited December 2009
    Oh, man, you rule!

EDIT: Heh, I just noticed Morgan and Elaine have some shadow mustaches. Funny.

Allright! xD My first thought was: "Where did he get hq pictures like that?!"
Anyways the charakters look great! You did an awesom job there!

I rarely change my wallpaper (last change was 6 Months ago to a Sons of Anarchy Logo), so Laserschwert, feel proud, as that poster is now my desktop image, Centered so it zooms in nicely on Winslow, Elaine, Guybrush and Morgan, looking very nice. The grain adds a certain cool feeling to it. :)

If only the rendering was really like that in-game!

I would so use it as a poster, but I got no room around the Steve Purcell print. :'(

    I must concur.

Hey, has anyone tried/is anyone willing to try drawing concepts for LeChuck's Killer Walrus form? I'd love to see if anyone half-capable at anything beyond a stick figure could make the idea really menacing. Or hilarious.

hehe I sketched something yesterday but deleted it immediately
I'll see if I can sketch something at work tomorrow

Desktopped, and many, many thanks! (Still, the Movie-Poster-Style would have been great for the wallpapers as well, title / character names and all...)

Here is an intermission drawing of Laineykins. Something I did around last week but was hesitant to post here because no matter how many times I tried re-scanning and messing with the settings I could not get the stupid school scanner to NOT MESS UP THE AREA RIGHT WHERE ELAINE WAS. THANKS school scanner. >:C

Maybe it would be a nice idea if you had shown LeChuck half human and half zombie!

Thanks! Though that hideous scanner-induced shadow on Elaine still bugs the heck out of me. I was struggling so much with the scanner that even one of the student faculties came to help me and he couldn't get it out either. He was all "what a shame, it's such a pretty pirate girl. Why don't you try Kinko's?" FFFFFF.

Please, nobody say the word "scanner" to me for a while.

Anyway, here's one final piece for today. In fact, I did it just now at this moment, 'cause I was playing a drawing game with some friends and one of our challenges was "the most d'aww-inducing mother-and-child drawing wins" so I did this. It won too! Adorable Little Pirate™ is victorious again! >:3

I'll probably end up touching it up and coloring it for a future Mother's Day card.

    D'AWW CUTE

It still bugs me that she somehow wears the Goodsoup ring as an earring even though it's never shown any sign of a hinge or clasp, even in Tales. But that has nothing to do with your horrendously cute drawing. Here's another D'AWW for good measure.
  • edited December 2009
Huh, for some reason I never noticed the magically-appearing clasp on the ring. :| That IS pretty weird. Though I will say I prefer the ring as an earring because that big a diamond just looks tacky on a finger.

    And thanks for the d'awws!
  • edited December 2009
Pecanblue, your work is always a pleasure to see. :D
  • edited December 2009
That's the thing, though. The clasp never magically appears. It's more like the ring magically passes through her ear lobe when she wants to put it on. I agree, though, it is better.
