Using The Walking Dead as an example though. When they decided to do DLC for it, the Telltale store version got it for free while everyone on Steam had to buy it. And there's no cross saves so if there were any type of DLC in the future, you'd have to play the whole story over again if your decisions carried over to it. (if there ever were any DLC...and they decided to give it to us free again)
Not sure how ttg patch system works but its alot more easy with steam. Save games and configs should be the same locations my be different but… more steam version you don't need a TTG account not sure if it uses steam cloud for saves. You would have no need for the TTG version Imo.
Yes, that's what I was thinking about. The Steam system is easier, but then there are some perks that come along the Telltale version. Anyway, I finished my first run on the Steam version. I wouldn't mind replaying it the exact same way (I did that with The Walking Dead) but I'm afraid having both versions could create some "interference..." Plus, if there are no cross-saves, that means I get 3 extra save slot if I want to experiment a little.

So can we get an ETA on the mac version?! So far this is ruining my baller friday, I had no plans but to play this game today.
Mac upda… morete: There was an unforeseen issue with the Mac version of Episode 1. Telltale is working on an update right now and expect to have the Mac build live on Steam and the Telltale website within the next few days.
Excuse me, what?!
It was only the first release that was postponed, due to a server issue. The rest of the season didn't have that problem, so Telltale has definitely
fixed that issue. So, don't worry, the chances of that happening again are almost non-existant.

Talk about a odd coincidence.
There's no automated system for the Steam keys - they have to be sent out manually, and Telltale's a TAD busy at the moment. So if you feel you're due one and haven't got it yet - hang in there. It'll probably be with you within a day or so.
Also, be sure to check your Spam box. Some people have said there's have gotten caught in it.
I'm glad TTG spent loads of manpower upgrading the community because the old forum was not up to TTG standards. Maybe there was a little bit too much of this going on leading up to the release.

I am a mac user this time around because I am traveling. I just want to know what it will be the situation on the mac. We still have NO RELEASE of the game. I am not looking for getting extra games, I just want to know what is the situation, what is the problem, and how is being fixed.
Keep us updated will you? Because it is past release time and still no game, and I am trying to avoid all the spoiler is possible to don't ruin the fun.
I even bought dlc 400 days to kill time, and for some reason I just realised that the games look not supported for mac, while walking dead it is. I opened a support ticket with Steam about that (I don't see even the possibility to install it).
I am getting kinda irritated, I hope that everything will turn out fine soon.
So, what is the current news? I have not received any emails (about direct download or Steam key). I'd love a Steam key, personally, to start playing the game now with no issues.
The only way I got wind of that this was released was by a comment in another thread, but apart from that? nada. Zip. Zilch. Null. Zero. Nothing.
A proper release - if for nothing else, to whip up some interest for the game - would be to announce the release date, hand out teasers, flyers dammit. Now it just feels like I finally got a half-assed cheeseburger from the kid at McD who hates his job.
Where is your pride? Your business sense? Your goddamn customer care?
I'm gonna lurk around some Lets Play vids and reviews before I commit to anything.
Almost twenty two hours since the game was launched no email notification no steam key bot been able to play this game and i do hope TTG are in the office this weekend mailing out the steam keys and not at home.
Way to go Telltale. Yay.

Ah, I see the download is now available on the site (I was waiting for the email). I never got the Steam key, though I'd love one. I am glad I can at least play the first episode today, though.
Thank you for the Steam key in addition, how long will it take for us to receive these? I registered my TWAU before Friday but haven't yet received any email. Checked spam folders and confirmed email address in account, yet still nothing.
I knew the game was coming, but not when. The usual custom when releasing a game is to blow all whstles to make sure people buys it... TTG however keeps the lid on...
I never even received my "your game is ready to be played" email...what a joke, if you guys arent sending these out during the weekend youre an embarrassment of a company.

Thanks for your help.
Just go to "My Games". The game is there and can be downloaded, installed and played. I'm sure that you'll receive the mail at some point but you don't need it to download the game.

I just managed to download it from Telltale's server with no problem. Try to download it again (the server could possibly have been overloaded when you tried earlier).

Probably a 10, because it has worked for other people. There comes a time when people go from having legitimate complaints about the game launch to shit-stirring because they can.

Which servers are you referring to, the download servers, or the authentication servers for the login?
If it's a download problem, it might be location specific, since the game is distributed through a CDN (Content delivery network) with servers all over the world. If so, which country are you downloading from?
If it's a login issue, please check the support FAQ.
Well Luckly I was able to play and login [not with my email] Have yet to receive an email with the steam key, and It's been I don't even wanna be specific on how long but yea =/ Doubt I'll see it before monday / tuesday.
It's a fun game, Kinda upset I had to wait over 24 hours past the actual launch to play it however.

Came home from work. Got on steam. Bought downloaded now finished.
One of the best games of all time. Not as good as TWD for me but still a winner.
I hope everything works out so everyone else can play this weekend. It's awful that MAC users got hit up with that bug.
boo, no steam key for me, it's not in spam and it's certainly not in inbox

MAC users got the "NO soup for you" from TTG.
@jennifer
Talk about a odd coincidence.
I did not see them confirm the PSN for next week. Seeing how today went it might be in testing a little longer.
Yea at 4:30 pm est I downloaded it and played.
This wasn't a server issue.
Any ETA on the Mac version?
No steam key for me yet either. Are they still being sent out?
I guess details details but it was a release disturbance.
I got mine during the night (CET) I like having a game in multiple places

kinda doubt they stuck around for the weekend....
Ah, I see the download is now available on the site (I was waiting for the email). I never got the Steam key, though I'd love one. I am glad I can at least play the first episode today, though.
Still no Steam Key, downloaded the client from your own site as stipulated in the OP and the game is still inaccessible.
To put it bluntly this is a joke. TTG what are you actually playing at? You've released numerous titles and encountered
these issues before.
Try using your user name instead of your e-mail address when logging in. It's working for me now!!
It sucks having to wait later than everybody else to get to play, but it is a nice gesture giving out free steam codes (still waiting for mine)

Wrong.
Servers dont work.

On a scale of 1-10 how much did you honestly believe that was going to work?

I'm sorry to hear that but for me they work.
That awkward moment when I'm still unable to play. Get over yourself.

Yup I finally got in too, games amazing, still waiting on my steam key.
