Im with you on that, SCREW YOU LUCAS ARTS, all i need now is for monkey island 5, day of the tentacle 2, grim fandango 2 to be released and my world domination is final. Wuahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Sadly, all those title license are still under Lucasarts. It was only Sam & Max license that had enforced expiration shall the acquired company fail to deliver a game within certain amount of years I think, or it was a limited time only until 2005.

Not that I want to spoil the occasion, but the worse thing is Lucas promised to get back the adventure games really, in 2015! I am not kidding. see this post for more information :S

We might be dead before we see it. And they still think fans will stay loyal to them?

In fact that's why I made the proposal to give them that big laugher. I really want to see them crunching away on their fingernails, wondering what they've done to themselves when cancelling Freelance Police.

id love to agree but i have to say lucas probably doesnt care. they recently said in some article that basically trying new things made them a hit back then and they feel like they have to keep doing that. (although, they seem to have no problem going to the ol' star wars well)
seriously, i doubt they could care less.
    but i need this game.
    stat.

Isn't it that LucasArts still owns the rights to Hit the Road and Telltale was only able to make these games because Steve Purcell owns the rights to the comic book material and allowed Telltale rights to it?

    Hello!

Well I've studied Greenwich Meantime and its different from CET
But in Europe we're all in line and that's no big problem for me, ha, ha
But over in the USA, while we're all having our tea
They're maybe just getting dressed, well that's no way to be.

    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind

Well I called them on the telephone during office hours
I'd spoken to their answerphone, some silly mumbling cow
She said "I'm sorry we're not open yet but have a nice day"
But it's gone noon, they're still in bed they're far behind in the USA

    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind

Good Lord, can't you hurry up
    Americans are behind
Americans, get a move on now!

    Good God, ??
Hardly dressed, get that thing inside your trousers, how dare you!

At the third stroke we will all have a jolly good time...
At the third stroke, at the fourth stroke, it will be...
the fifth stroke and the sixth stroke... oh, dear!

    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind
    Americans are behind

    Precisely...

The Monguls did better really - They ruled a much larger land mass than we ever did

The romans had much more style
    The Greeks threw better parties
The French had more outrageous sex
& the Spanish were just mental

We on the other hand had three-million different versions of the spinning Jenny and invented concentration camps - yay us!

oh, i agree. they gave them wiggle room to do whatever they want.
and i love those games...but i never hold it to artists/groups to "please their fans that were with them at the start." their job is to create games. if i like them, great. if not, i dont buy. done and done.
im just happy someone else got in to create more with these characters.

I can't agree more. But I wonder about where the sense is behind Lucas Arts holding back all the licenses for their really great adventure games but never going to release a sequel anyway? Weird, weird world.
