Well, you know what they say, never pay more than 20 bucks for a computer game :p

But, to be honest, I think it's overpriced. It's not a new game, it's not a sealed game, and it's not a rare game (well, maybe Spanish version is rare, I don't know about that) so 40 euros is too much.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I have it in small DVD case, so...

I just had to say that I ABSOLUTELY loved Dominic's voice acting in the game, especially near the end when
Guybrush reacts to Lechuck being his brother
. It was worth getting the game just to hear that bit of voice acting :D:D

Totally stunned me, too. Imagine how emotional that scene would have been with TOMI - Guybrush facial expressions. Whoa.

I think this is the last of the SE since after #2, #3 was the escape from MI which included vastly improved graphics. unless they do #4 :) (which played a bit like a console option)

on a side note, do anyone know where to acquire the guybrush stuffed voodoo doll we saw on facebook awhile? I tried to get access to it since people from his work were going to to E3 (marketing) but sadly I asked to late. phoo!

Um, #3 was curse of monkey island. But yeah... Let's hope for a new game.

Bought MI2:SE today from Steam. Played a great game for the first hour. Next start-up... NO savegames! WTF?! Even after testing with different Steam settings, it's still not possible to save my progress. :(

I found that reinstalling my graphics driver a second time seemed to get it running again... go figure.

But yeah, finished it at last! hahaha. I love the voice acting, it just adds a whole new depth.
Did anyone else notice there were slight tweaks to the dialogue though? Like when Guybrush looks in the mirror. He says "I feel pretty" in the original version and "That's one nice beard" or something similar in the SE. I thought that was fairly random.

But yay! My husband finally got to see how MI2 ends and he was like "wtf?" hahaha. It was adorable.

Weird. Works for me. Right out of the box. You are actually saving your games, right? Either way you should still have autosaves...

I had a go of the demo. It's pretty but the voice acting got on my nerves a little bit.

didn't work very well for me, maybe i'm just not very quick. I also struggled trying to give the hankie to LeChuck but I think that was because I was really freaked out :p

You are actually saving your games, right?

Of course I was. :p I had the same problem as this user: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1358304 .

Thanks for letting me know that there's a demo.

I distinctly remember someone telling you there was a demo ages ago.

Im pretty sure a steam update just came through, the intro still isnt there, but after having a quick look through the audio folder there is a few files that are marked as created today, so i guess they have patched some of the audio.

Wonder if they fixed the Dinky Island Jungle silence.

Yeah, it's great. And just after I fixed the bone song in a video:rolleyes:
If they do add the intro, I will have no complaints for the special edition at all. Maybe we'll get another update soon.

Yea, I hope we get the into, were there any other audio issues from before the update, I remember a few areas that had very bad audio in classic mode (like very crackly) I cant remember where it was but I think it might have been the beach of Scabb, well if it was the beach it has been fixed.

The Steam version has been updated (40 MB patch). I don't know what it fixes. Still no intro... :(

Yea just checked, hooray for the bone song fix.

Dinky Island Jungle's music is fixed, the Bone Song is re-synched (the subtitles are really brief, so the bad syncing must've been caused by subtitle speed problems), and the original credits have been restored! :D You have to switch to classic mode before they start to see them though, as you can't change back and forth during, like you can with the first special edition. But yeah, now I can once again spend hours staring at a list of suggestions for what I should be doing with my time.

They still haven't sorted out the really bad sync problems when you first encounter the lady in the LeChuck costume though.
  • edited July 2010
Well, its good to here the classic end credits have been added, I guess that will make it easier to play LR:SE for the next MI race.
  • edited July 2010
Oooh! This update sounds good! It's great that they sorted out everything. Better load up steam...

EDIT: That's much better! I had a save point at the Bone Song.

The dancing monkeys are back! Well, sort of.

If you switch over to classic mode immediately on starting a new game, it'll play the intro. Guybrush's line is even voiced!

Unfortunately it doesn't work outside of classic mode... yet. After all, if they patched this, maybe they'll release another patch later!:D

Wow your right, so they have added the classic intro, just hope they add the intro in the SE version.

and thats another thing that helps with the timing issues between SE and Original for the next MI race.

Yep. The Bone Song has been fixed, too.

If you switch to HD during the intro, it will be skipped and you'll be sent to Scabb Island. Also the MIDI still sucks.

What do you mean, I remember a few poor quality areas, do you know which areas are bad?

The MIDI in the entire game is bad. The instruments are wrong and low quality. Even Microsoft GSynth (the 'default' MIDI in most installs of Windows) is better.
