Yeah Captain Kate, or well, an abandoned love of Guybrush maybe? I´d love to see a Guybrush who doesnt constantly run after Elaine, maybe we´ll even see a darker toned one? Remember, Le Chucks Pox could take control over our (wannabe) pirate.

Now that would be a good plot twist, Elaine running after Guybrush, not vice versa. That would teach the girl.

This is actually a neat thing! I didn't make the connection.

I think I'll laugh my head off if I see someone we never EVER thought about. :D

Yeah, nice. All bets on Kate for me. :) Guybrush could even fall in love with her, instead Elaine. Would be a funny plot.

Coming to think about it, this would be downright excellent. The whole thing with the hand is downright excellent, to begin with. I´d love to see a slight change in Guybrushs Behaviour, and you could blame it all on Le Chuck. :)

Besides, seeing that Le Chuck is handing out flowers, it would only be logical if Guybrush would start to act a bit like Le Chuck. Twisting the roles around. :)

It's the melee island's lookout

For some reason the idea of a sex change seems way funnier for this guy than for Largo :p

Maybe :) I wouldnt mind it being her.

Maybe Elaine falls in love with the human LeChuck, who now holds all aces, while Guybrush has to run around with a green hand. (You know how women are, looks are important and can turn a female mind around ;) ) So, while fighting off the LeChuck Pox before LeChuck takes complete possession of him, Guybrush has to worry about losing his big love Elaine too.

I think thats where we´re heading at..

I kinda got the impression the plot might be heading in that sort of direction too.

Not sure Elaine would actually completely fall in love with him. but she seems 'interested' by accepting the flower off Lechuck at the end of the episode.

Only problem I have with that is Elaine knew Lechuck before he died and wasn't interested in him even then...in fact she was actually indirectly responsible for his death by telling him to 'drop dead'.

I guess it's possible she could change her mind but that 'woof' comment has me worried, almost implying it's the first time she's seen him alive.

Then again since Ron Gilbert brainstormed with the team and talked about Elaine's character it could all be part of one elaborate plan for escape, which would make much more sense...I hope so...

Even though I get used to the numerous plot holes within Monkey Island it's still vaguely annoying when new ones crop up!

Can't wait to see what happens!

Well, don´t forget that Guybrush could adept LeChucks Behaviour more and more, as long as he doesnt get rid of the LeChuck Pox. So he could or should also change character wise.

Maybe we´ll see a different, more LeChuck like Guybrush, at least for one Episode. :) Would be nice.

maybe we'll control LeChuck and try to stop Evil Guybrush
  • edited July 2009
I actually would like to control Evil!Guybrush, just because. We all know Guybrush is badass enough, but under the influence of Pox of LeChuck he could become the epitome of badassery xD Maybe if the Pox take him over at some point and he has no choice but to do evil stuff. We could travel the Caribbeans and do some real nasty stuff to the whole area :p

As for the mysterious character at the end, I vote Kate as well. I would like to see her again xD

I think it's Kate, and actually it's possible that she IS Morgan LeFlay. Carla has no reasons for revenge on Guybrush.
  • edited July 2009
You know what would be funny? If the pox started taking over different body parts. Imagine Guybrush trying to walk when his feet won't obey him!

Conceivably, he might be better-looking now than he was when he originally lived. Losing the pox seems to have taken away all his vileness, and everyone knows that being ugly and being evil go together.

(and no, I'm not suggesting that the pox was the cause of his initial evilness, just that his evilness had become the pox, which seems to be the basis of his poxed form at the start of ToMI)

^ Agreed. The pox IS LeChuck..he generated it.

I believe I read it somewhere here, but I've no proof I can remember to cite for you sir.

I think that's the giveaway it's Kate personally.

And yeah. The pox did not create LeChuck as is he is but the pox is a manifestation that derived from LeChuck.

She was mad at guybrush for Monkey island. Maybe the cushy government job he offered went empty handed.

Im also worried about she wooing LeChuck its the 1st thing i though when he got human again. She told him to drop dead and so did he! Now she changed her mind!? Its a loophole i hope they fix that, like he is goodlooking but anoying.

After finishing the first episode last night and then going over to replay MI1 in full HD graphics on XBLA, I went to bed wondering wether MI2 will be given a facelift as well. I also pondered what kind of voice Largo might have been - and I came to the conclusion that his voice would be high pitched, but not too high-pitched. I not saying Largo LaGrande is the mysterious voice, but there's no reason to believe Morgana Le Flay is one of the old characters returning (especially since the Voodoo Lady would've known).

So Largo IS a possibility - and it wouldn't surprise me if he was given a female-ish voice. He's also very short, and there's no question he'd have something against Guybrush.

Both true, for some reason I forgot to take into account the very nature of the pox when I wrote my last post:p

I would actually love to see more of evil Guybrush too. The hand has been great so far:D

Hmm - While anything really is a possibility until it's revealed it's highly unlikely to be Largo. The voice was just too feminine to fit in with Largo's character in my opinion and not aggressive enough.

I think Dom actually did a great Largo in that April Fool's recording:D

The reason I believe it's a possibility for Morgan Le Flay to be a returning character is based upon the small amount of information we're given.

We know Morgan is (or will be) hired by The Marquis De Singe, therefore is the only character we know who is actively seeking out Guybrush. So it would make sense for the mysterious voice at the end to be Morgan.

Using that logic you've got the line at the end "Guybrush Threepwood! I've been waiting a long time for this!" which implies it's an already established character.

So while it's not set in stone that it's Morgan Le Flay at the end, the reasons are there to believe it could be a returning character:)

The walk through page states that a female threatens him at the end...

Personally I think its the "friend" that the voodoo lady speaks of... I also believe that she is someone from an earlier game, yes. (cause he also seemed to recognize her)

I also have my suspicions that Jacques is the Montevideo monkey from the prologue... He acts the same, looks the same, and guybrush even mentions he has seen a monkey act that way before. (the facepalm thing)

plus De Singe mentions an "ordeal" that he went through...

As for the pirate hunter... "LeFlay" = "lechuck" ;)

Why do i have some weird feeling it could be Meathook? I mean, the voice could have been his talking tattoo, and he seemed pretty angry with guybrush in EMI.

Really? On the last play through Meathook seemed pretty, well, relaxed and calm with life, even when you mention you pretty much destroyed his painting he just sighed a bit and shrugged it off.

I think he is only angry with him when he tries to talk about his traumatic experience on monkey island

Plus he wears bras! Hmm...from this pic he would appear to be noticeably taller and thinner though. Possible after-effects of all that poking and stretching with the voodoo doll?

Hmm maybe... but looks like a new character. Is that her other arm behind her? I thought it was a ponytail, but looks armlike on reflection...
